  3. Where are they "advocating for wargames" exactly? They're discussing how Donald Trump made huge concessions and didn't get anything in return and also left our allies undefended. Trump wants to frame it as "wargames" and now even you and other right-wingers are regurgitating it as if it means something. The truth is our troops were stationed in South Korea on the DMZ for a reason. It wasn't just the usual interventionism like you are pretending it is. It was to defend one of our closest allies against one of the most unstable authoritarian regimes in the world. Stop acting like it's one dimensional. It's not and you sound silly.

You know, I see the stat being put out a lot about how 10 to 15% of rape accusations turn out to be false, but I don't see those same people putting out the stat about how many of those false accusers are actually tried and convicted for trying to ruin the lives of the people they accuse. The answer is that barely any of them actually see consequences for their actions. If you're going to be a voice for taking on the problems for rape culture, then you also need to take on the problems for women that falsely accuse men as well. I think most people are getting so upset about the false accusations, because they see it as a crime that is just as severe as rape (sometimes even worse given the circumstances) considering both crimes can completely ruin a person's life.

  7. A big portion of the country already are slaves in everything but name. When people work 2 or 3 jobs and still don't have enough money for living expenses that is a broken system. I have seen first hand what happens when friends of mine have little to no money even though they work a full time warehouse job and don't have enough money for private healthcare because their job does not provide it. They get sick one day and refuse to go to the hospital because they don't have healthcare and it will bankrupt them if they do go into the hospital for something that might save their life. The person I am referring to thankfully did not die, but I am very confident that there have been countless other people in this situation who have died from making the wrong choice. The fact that this type of thing happens in "the greatest nation on earth" is embarrassing, and it really proves that our country is so flawed that we can have the biggest economy in the world and the people working full time jobs on the bottom are essentially living like people in 3rd world countries. If you don't get an education, you're screwed, and if you get an education, you have hundreds of thousands of student debt and you're even more screwed. Face it, America only works for the 1% and everyone else gets turbo fucked.

  15. At the very least, the US should pull its troops out of Syria. Assad is none of our business and the US has actually propped up his regime in the past and used the country for extraordinary rendition so they would torture US captives for our military during the wars in Iraq/Afghanistan. The US is just as bad as Assad, the only difference is the US would never harm its own people, but it has done far worse in foreign countries such as the torturing obviously and many other war crimes.

I was just pointing out though that between the Dem and Rep presidents and policians, there is a colossal difference between who is healthier for the economy overall, and the fact that there are always Recessions and huge market crashes/bubbles when we have Republican presidents says a lot. I completely agree with you though that both Democrats and Republicans all do shitty things for the economy because they're all in favor of corporatism over populism. However, you can easily observe that the only people in politics who are trying to control the economy and banks more so we don't have these monumental crashes are always the Democrats and Independents. If we had just ONE single real populist/progressive president and enough populist/progressive politicians in the House and Senate to make a difference, we would have one of the greatest countries in the world that actually work for The People and not just for corporations and the super rich.

  33. Not even the courts are allowed to be bipartisan in the age of Trump. I think the biggest problem with the conservative side of the Supreme Court is that they constantly bend the laws based on the teachings of the Bible more than following the rule and moral principle within the Constitution. That side would gladly turn our country into a Christian Sharia law nation if they could, and that's 100% definitely in defiance of the ideology this country was built upon by the founding fathers.

  34. Last time I checked way more progressives were winning seats running as Democrats/Justice Democrats compared to the few progressives that squeezed by as 3rd Party candidates. That's just a fact. I support 3rd Party progressive candidates just as much as I support progressives running in the Democratic Party or even the Republican party if need be (but will probably never be the case) as you should if you truly consider yourself a progressive that holds progressive ideals in high regard. They ALL need our help and suggesting that nobody should vote for a true progressive just because you don't like the elites that run the party they're trying to run in is just counterproductive and you're only harming the progressive cause when you do and say that. I love the idea of starting a People's Party especially the idea of it being an instant success, but I'm almost entirely certain it wouldn't be the best way forward. This country is not ready to equally support a 3rd Party outside of the 2 party system and all you have to do to come to that conclusion is just look at ALL of United States history. People have never embraced more than 2 parties at a time. If you're still optimistic about being the first Americans in history who can change the way humans think on a political and massive level, then that's great but most of us are too realistic and rational to think it would actually work like you think. It's a shot in the dark even if people like Jimmy Dore are claiming it would be a piece of cake.

  35. Constantine  - No it's actually very similar with Cosby. The evidence being presented is circumstantial in both cases. The reason Constands (and many others) didn't have Cosby tried originally is because she didn't have admissible evidence in her case and she didn't get it brought to trial until the case had enough public outcry. However, I don't think Kavanaugh can actually be convicted on felony charges at this point because of Georgia's statute of limitations aka the charges are too old even though a civil suit could still be disastrous for him and possibly get him thrown off the Supreme Court if he's shoved through anyways.

Leftists seem reluctant to support Marianne either because they're burnt out over Bernie's 2016 and 2020 losses or they don't see Marianne as a serious candidate & are worried of expressing support just to get the rug pulled out from under them so she can sell a book in 2025 (she objectively doesn't have the same unquestionable credentials that Bernie did & she in no way has the same grassroots movement built up with unions and within the labor movement). That being said, she's still the best option to get the Leftist messaging out in the Primary and I think they should show more support, but it's also important to understand she's no automatically just another Bernie Sanders - Bernie was truly a once in a lifetime candidate

  42. How much you wanna bet that John Kennedy only voted in favor of Net Neutrality because Amazon, Facebook, and Google lobbyists gave him campaign money. He was responsible for drawing up legislation last year that was highly biased in favor of telecom companies. I think Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins may have done it even if they weren't accepting money though. They at least have enough of a conscience to know they should vote with 85% of the American people that want Net Neutrality.

He's not going to become the Democratic nominee for that reason alone. Perhaps he rides on his VP popularity long enough to become the final contender, but ultimately he will lose because of the times we are living in and how many young people in this country want change and crave populism and Democratic Socialism/Social Democracy. The older generation is dying out and they were the ones who were programmed to think the status quo and establishment is "just the way things are".
