  2. I've been saying for a long time now that Trump's corruption was not just exclusive to Russia. I've said "It's likely money laundering and corrupt campaign financing from Russia, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Turkey". This is my reason for being frustrated by the MSM. They never wanted to focus on Trump's corruption with ALL countries. Not just Russia, which has caused fear and McCarthyism to an extent.

Yes, the larger offices are harder to win because more money is involved (Cortez was outspect 10 to 1 along with many candidates), but they are winning large majorities of smaller offices. How many politicians does the Green Party have in office? They have like one mayor of a small bureau of San Francisco and one politician at a State level (Maine state House), they had another in the Arkansas House, but that person re-registered as a Democrat in 2014, and then all the rest the Greens have in office are on town councils, local administrators, and members on school boards. Stop being a pessimistic douche. Our Revolution, Justice Democrats, and DSA have people going into federal Congress, governorships, mayoral positions, and tons of lower offices. This is likely just a warmup for 2020 too. I hope the Greens and other progressives win their races in the future, but THIS way is winning for sure and you're trying to downplay that just as Pelosi was the other day.

However, saying that, I still think he's just a giant moron, but more importantly he's massively egotistic, narcissistic, and doesn't care about the country or the American people in the slightest, which is why he sees no problem with taking Putin's "word" over the United States and all its institutions and embarrassing the country publicly like he did. Perhaps there is a chance Putin and him have some type of small deal together, but I'm leaning on the side of people who think he's just a huge moron and selfish beyond belief with zero amounts of real patriotism.

  22. Seems to me it's just a really advanced voice modulator that makes her talk smoothly like a real person. They could be developing something to allow AI software to string together syllables a lot better. As far as intelligence though, I don't think this demo really proved much we haven't seen before. There have now been transcendental conversations between two robots on the topic of their own existence as robots. I think that's much more impressive.

  23. I think the most cautious thing about this demo was how the voice was essentially indistinguishable to a human voice. That is still a huge problem because it allows for that type of voice software to be coupled with really advanced AI and that pair might be something really groundbreaking. Robots are going to pass the Turing Test over the phone decades before they will pass it in person.

  24. Just because the AI voice was smooth doesn't necessarily mean that the AI algorithms are somehow more advanced. It just means Google is working on some new software that strings together syllables a lot more smoothly. I wasn't impressed at all by this demo except for the voice.

Politicians allow our tax code to give the 1% massive benefits so they have more than 90% of the wealth in this country, but they only pay 39.48 percent of all income taxes, while the 99% pays 29.12 percent of all income taxes. If the top 1% currently takes more than 90% of all new income in this country and they pocket 85% of a new income GROWTH, then that means by that ratio, the top 1% will keep getting richer and richer and income inequality will keep widening the gap between the 1% and everyone else. You do realize this is more than just an issue of "what's fair" and who "pays their share". This is about an economic crisis that has been happening since the 1980s when wages became stagnant under Ronald Reagan.

Gary Cohn was speaking at a convention at one point before the Trump cuts were made and he asked the room full of CEO to raise their hands if they planned to invest the money saved from the proposed tax cuts and barely anyone raised their hands. They're using their tax cuts and the corporations' tax cuts for stock buybacks primarily, which is a way that personally enriches them in the short term, but is detrimental on our economy and makes the stock and bonds markets bubble just as we saw this past year right after the tax cuts were implemented. Do you remember the day when the market crashed so hard that it set a record for the biggest crash in one day in all of US history? Also, you're basically describing Trickle Down Economics with your assessment of companies investing and then the money trickles down to the workers. Countless studies have been done to prove that Trickle Down Economics doesn't work because it relies on a lack of greed and corruption in corporations and by the elite in the 1%. Again though, show me proof that these companies are actually investing, hiring more, and "creating more business". Ask the people of Carrier what happened to their jobs, AT&T or the people at Harley Davidson (even though that last one was a consequence of Trump's trade wars).

  48. In my opinion, the only people who are overprivileged are rich assholes like Kanye and Trump. A cop would never arrest either them for anything unless maybe a DUI or a murder, but even then it's debatable. Black people definitely have the least amount of privilege considering they're literally gunned down in the street while unarmed, but even today, most people of color and white people with barely any money have very little privilege. The poor and lower middle class in this country are spat upon, but if you have money like Kanye, black or white, you have all the privilege in the world.
