For urban and suburban driving, the Hybrid is the obvious choice.

"Just learn to drive the stick shift," words of wisdom from Micah.

"Nothing is less cool than trying to look cool," very well said sir! A 50% increase in fuel efficiency to #36mpg is a massive achievement that could be considered genuinely......... cool.

After 16 years of ownership, I can state these cars are excellent. If you are shopping for a second hand car from this era you will find it difficult to find a better option.
54
Yes, the sky high Raptor price tag certainly defies gravity.
42
The $30,000 in resale value can be applied to Carlos Ghosn's bail. He is currently in a Japanese jail cell after being accused of the heinous crime of turning Nissan into Renault.
42
I highly recommend the film "Bullitt" for more than just the car chase.
36
Nice tax write off for the lucky few.

Following another year of record 4Runner sales, Toyota is laughing all the way to the bank with this 'out-of-date' money printing machine. I hope TMC eventually brings back the manual. There is a healthy market for its manual cousin the Tacoma so there is no reason why a manual 4Runner could not come back for true enthusiasts.

This might be the finest car BMW builds in Mexico today.
29
They charge 37K for the 'base' FWD model. When, oh when will the BMW bubble finally burst?
16
Will the gaskets leak on this engine like they do on the Focus RS?
15
It is fascinating that modern mid-size sedans have lots of rear leg room with no rear headroom while this class of CUV has ample headroom but no leg room.
13
Have they slapped a 25% tariff on these yet?
13
Who knows what the future holds, people should get their genuine, made-in-Japan 4Runner while they can.
12
It will never match the S class when it comes to the size of repair bills.
11
VW quality has "varied" over the years between mediocre and awful.
11
Tall drivers rejoice! There is finally a CUV with lots of #headroom . Are you watching Toyota? The abundant sidewall on the factory spec tires is another welcome addition to the CUV fleet.

C.C. , Words of wisdom.

Did anyone else take a break from a string of Avalon launch videos to watch this?

MPrime, I have 126 HP and I'm doin' just fine .

The FWD base model and the top spec AWD are so different they should get their own separate review.
9
We know more about these cars than the people reviewing them.
9
What is your definition of better? If you are interested in long term reliability then Toyotas can rarely be beaten. If you want a minivan that drives like a car then try the Honda. If you are just leasing for a couple of years then take a walk on the wild side with the Chrysler Pacifica which also comes as a Hybrid. It is your money, what is your priority?
9
Almost 13 now.

Lyn, As a fifth generation 4Runner owner, did you notice 14:50 they also deleted the 40/20/40 second row seat? 🤔
8
The compulsory driver engagement that comes with every manual is the best safety feature of all.
8
It is a re-badged Mercedes so it has NO long term durability.
8
Subaru you dropped the manual . Shame on you.
8
More wagons please.
8
Just when they thought they had finally copped a break with that humongous tax cut, Ferrari has the nerve to up-charge them for basic features. Where is the justice?
8
How long has your QB been around? Why fix what isn't broken?
7
Amen and Hallelujah.

Lyn, As mentioned, a loaded 2025 Outback wagon is priced comparably to a Crown Signia XLE. With the inexplicable decision 2:52 to turn the highly popular Outback wagon into a 2 row Ascent SUV for 2026, :face-blue-wide-eyes:Subaru has turned the Japanese wagon market over to the Signia. Hopefully Toyota has the sense to SEIZE the opportunity and broaden the price range at which a Signia can be obtained.🤞🤞 A 40 mpg Signia LE in the $35-38K range would appeal to many disillusioned Subaru owners who chose the Outback SPECIFICALLY because it was a wagon rather than a SUV. Toyota brought in a cheaper Grand Highlander LE for 2025 and they should do the same for the Signia in 2026. 🤑🤑🤑
7
The subversive close-up of the archaic rear suspension in action was worth the price of admission.
6
It is a fine idea but the Crown variant 0:28 they chose is the wrong one.
6
No, you're not dreaming, there is one less car on the market for drivers who grew 6 feet tall or taller.
6
@sno6313 Why would you get a Prius? Because it is a much more adaptable hatchback and it comes with AWD.
6
The more I look at the totally impractical new Prius, the more appealing the Camry Hybrid gets. An AWD Camry Hybrid is probably just around the corner.
6
Makes sense.
6
What exactly is Polarizing about the 4Runner? For years they have barely been able to build them as fast as they can sell them. In terms of competition from the new Bronco, Tacoma sales have only increased since new mid-size pickups like Ranger, Colorado and Gladiator came to market. 4Runner has nothing to worry about.
6
It has had nothing but positive reviews save and except the shrunken interior dimensions.
6
MB, Be patient, you can still find some low-mileage Vibes in the used car market.
6
When is Honda/Acura finally going to come up with a vexatious push button or 'swipe-actuated' manual transmission? ;) #SaveTheManuals
6
Wow! Toyota has finally 'thrown a frickin' bone' to markets it bypassed with the real deal GR Yaris. 😁
5
Would that be a made in the USA CR-V?
5
Reliability?
5
Let's see if the new Civic Hybrid comes in at a price below or above the new Camry. 😉
5
Lyn, Thank you for this hyperbole-free review. 😁 Let's hope the upcoming Land Cruiser FJ makes it to this market as a more affordable 4X4 option from Toyota. 🤞🤞
