More harm has been done by exporting the manufacture US automobiles to Mexico than Mexicans coming to be our gardeners, farm workers and meat processors....don't you think? If you provided welfare to every poor person in Latin America with a house to boot, it is not as great to the 8 TRILLION dollars that we gave to the banks in the bailout. It is Wall Street that owns the US Treasury and makes infinite wars for profit that is your enemy not your gardener.

This ideology was engineered by the financial capitalists. It has nothing to do with "illegal'' immigration and everything to do with changing laws that concentrate wealth to the 1%.  NAFTA is a neo liberal investment agreement. The result is to concentrate the wealth in Mexico with the disastrous effects of mass impoverishment of the Mexican society. This also happens in Africa with the spike in forced immigration due to neo liberal engineered impoverishment.

In Nicaragua, the Sandinista government is actually spending money on social projects having received economic aid from Venezuela, a South-South cooperation agreement as part of ALBA.
