The best example of this is the Portuguese Empire and the huge country of Brazil which it created through assimilation. That is what the Oghuz Turks did in Anatolia. Venezuela has the largest reserves of oil and almost all the strategic minerals including rare earth minerals. Iran has enormous amounts of oil and gas and minerals. Cuba has nickel and undeveloped gas in the Gulf of Mexico. Sanctions have become a double edged sword, now bleeding the US economy with high inflation.
