The way she tucked her lil' leggings in and curled up to sleep in that lovely ladies' hand π

Lolyup. My dad bitched endlessly when I moved to the UK and had to give up my cat to live with my parents. But my mom catches him snuggling with the kitty all the time, while he tries to deny it π

Men who love cats are the sexiest ever π

Caiques like this can bond with multiple people, especially if they're kept as a solo bird. I don't recommend it personally, though. I think rambunctious species like caiques and lorikeets should be kept in pairs, so they can keep each other occupied, but it is doable if you give them enough attention. Which in a cacique's case is like, every waking moment π

There's a neighbor five houses down who keeps cats and dogs in horrible conditions, he doesn't spay or neuter any of them and so a bunch of cats keep coming from his house. One of them had kittens under our house and we were able to socialize them, unfortunately Mama was too feral and we ended up doing TNR on her after months of trying to tame her indoors. She seems happy and we see her now and again, at least she won't add any more kittens who will suffer. The two kittens were adopted together and are doing great!

I know, she's such a lovely dear heart and I love her for taking in that bee π

Barn fowl make the best pets. My houseducks saved me, too. Without Wobbles, I wouldn't be here right now. Thank you, Penelope. π
11
Yeah, cuz it's not like it had giant mouth full of fucking teeth pointed right at her.
11
I know, right? I just love her π
8
I know, but the photos only show her as definitively being connected to Phoenix, when they round up wild horses they just put them all in one pen, so we have no idea if any of the others in the first photo are his too, and even if they were, there's not enough shown of them to make a positive ID.

The only thing cuter than Boysie are the reactions of the guy every time he sees Boysie π

I too have attempted, and I ugly cried when I saw that. What a wonderful way to turn a dark reminder into a beautiful and inspiring one. π

I'll never understand why so many people hate pigeons so much. They're lovely birds, very intelligent, and it's OUR fault they exist at all. There's no such thing as a wild native city pigeon. Every last one is descended from domestic pigeons.
4
That is a lovely story. Thank you for sharing it with us π
3
THIS IS NOT CUTE. It is objectively dangerous for the bird, and appallingly irresponsible. Shame on you for showing this, Dodo.
3
Yup! Ducks, too. Such affectionate, inquisitive little creatures π
3
Isn't he gorgeous? What monster would dump a lovely roo like him?
3
I have two houseducks. Not as smart or interactive as parrots, but every bit as sweet, cuddly, and full of personality π

TAPPY TAPPY TAPPY TAPPY TAPPY TAPPY
2
Cat dads are the hottest men on earth. π
2
Thank you for showing how sweet and affectionate house fowl can be. People don't understand that chickens, ducks and geese can be wonderful housepets with a little bit of adjustment. π
2
And yet, people who do TNR to prevent further cats from suffering this fate are being arrested and prosecuted!
2
And this is part of why I'm very much against duck hunting! Other than the obvious.
2
βΒ @capricornus-666Β Because that's their only option. They don't want to, that's the law.
2
βββΒ @Servus_Matris_NostraeΒ lol they totally are. They're like toddlers that can destroy your electronics. π Caiques like these are especially challenging, but they're worth it. They're known for being clowns of the bird world, they're so happy and funny and energetic! You will always find a caique doing something that makes you laugh. Such great birds. π
2
Unfortunately, if Coco has it, Blue has it too π
2
PLEASE, someone, recognize the neighbors and name them!
2
Caciques CAN be kept solo, but you have to spend every waking moment with them to keep them happy. They're little terrors in the best way possible π Such clowns, they need to be up in your business 24/7!
2
Right?? You need to be home 24/7 if you have a caique, especially if you keep just one like this couple!
2
That's such a good idea!
1
Probably superglue.
1
Am I the only parrot owner in here? You're NEVER supposed to let a dog and a parrot interact, ever!
1
Caiques are such clowns, they need to be ALL up in your business no matter what. They're a ton of work, but so much fun!
1
And then he contracted leptospirosis from manhandling a filthy mouse with his bare hands. The end.
1
I don't understand why everyone's so angry at the vet. Y'all know they can't just doxx people, right?
1
Hi, zoologist and former avian vet student here. Unfortunately, those are REALLY hard to do for waterfowl. They have soft bills, not hard beaks. Plus you need a significant portion of the upper bill to attach the prosthetic onto, which Beaker no longer has.
1
That's a baby p-dog. I hope the colony is nearby so he can find them!
1
I knew at first glance it was PBFD. You shouldn't adopt a bird if you can't even recognize obvious illnesses. Now the other budgie will inevitably manifest it as well, it's VERY contagious.
1
AAAAA HE IS SO CUTE π
1
I knowwwww π
1
Being elderly is NOT an excuse for severe neglect! They could see how poorly those animals were doing, but they refused to reach out for help, because they are selfish and prideful. For her hooves to get this bad takes YEARS.
1
Thank you for helping the spooder π
1
Sigh. No, it can't. This is so dangerous and irresponsible. Sooner or later you're going to see an update from this terrible bird owner that the dog "accidentally" Game Over'd the cockatoo. No parrot owner will tell you it's ok to let a dog and a bird interact. Ever.
1
Water really isn't good for chickens, their skin and feathers can be prone to illness this way. I hope this guy has a good avian vet. I worry about her feet, too.
1
βΒ @CreationsByRachelΒ No, they're not. Projecting humanity onto animals is bad for the animals. They're not "humans in fur coats", they're predators and any responsible parrot owner will tell you that you NEVER allow dogs and birds to interact!
1
The lady who gave them to you likely was taking awful care of them (typical Easter chick situation) and Nubs got frostbite.
1
She's such a weird cat, and I love her for it π
1
A common crane! Wow, you're so lucky! There's no greater feeling than being chosen by a wild animal. I'm sorry about Kyle. π
1
Mice carry 33 zoonotic diseases, including leptospirosis, tularemia, and rat bite fever. They are not an animal you want proliferating on your property.
