Best wishes to you Jonathan.

Fascinating, and our media once again seemingly ignoring this entire realm.
5
I think the phrase is, "hard agree" - to all of that.
5
Brilliant, as ever.
4
Computer Emergency Response Team of Ukraine.
4
Ugh Charap 🤮
4
@SiliconCurtain Let's hope that ZPP isn't in that friggin mix
4
Something about that short interview that hit very hard
4
She's brilliant isn't she, Fiona. I could listen to her mull and think out loud so coherently for hours. Quite difficult to interview seamlessly on a video call I'm guessing, as she rekindles her idea and drops yet another gem of insight as she's ending a path of thought. Great interview.
3
10/10 quality interview
3
I look forward to it!
3
Great interview thanks. I have a Russian friend who has always made the point that Ukraine was the original and that Russia the thief of the lands. Also, whilst I'm here it would be great if you could get Vlad Vexler on here.
2
Jonathan, were the images of the ships removed by a filter before this video was published? For example at 15:31 I was getting a different image entirely, it also happened just a couple of minutes later as well.
2
Last time I corrected what I thought was an error on a pro-Ukraine channel, I was flamed by a rando, out of the blue, really intensely. It was quite odd. There's a lot of psychologies out there, that's for sure.
2
Not wanting to sound too much like 1970's man, but these Ukrainian women, Anna; Kateryna here; others ... are true forces of nature. They're not going to stop. Russia is going to lose.
2
I am very worried that Europe is going to look at this aid package from the US as a chance to kick a real decision about Ukraine and Russia into the long grass. Again.
2
Vlad is incredible isn't he. I mean, here, right here is what we should be doing. But it feels like he is some magical bubble of stillness in the maelstrom of media, and I don't fully comprehend how he keeps from popping.
2
How did I miss Vlad on this channel. My two favourite English language channels coming together and I missed it face-palm 😜
2
How did we end up with a system in power in the west where the spoilt foolish egotistical haters are celebrated and put in charge. Oh wait, it's not just us.
2
Love both you guys x
2
The troll, he go poof into thin air. Bye bye
2
@SiliconCurtain I see what you're saying. Thanks for the reply.

My leftist ex-friends unquestioningly believe Chomsky. Their momentum in their beliefs despite the stacking evidence against them is staggering to me.

I think that the cost of living crisis is a particularly devious enemy, because it plays right into the short-termism thinking of western politicians. They are tempted by the belief that appeasement with Russia will push the issue beyond their tenure, otherwise they'll lose power.

As a software developer, my experience is that companies are suddenly resistant when engineers push for DevOps to be mutated into DevSecOps - it's so often seen as extra cost and a drag on deployment. Okay, for some use cases it's overkill - but actually very few. Most systems store private user data somewhere in some form. The thing that I am regularly shocked by is that there's still way too much low-hanging fruit for hackers in a lot of internet facing systems and APIs. Vulns that could have been patched out are left open just because sec is seen as a waste. It's a big threat to UK companies.

@OsamaBinKevo 😆
1
Putin, also known as ... 😆
1
@SiliconCurtain Yeah. I would have no problem with their attitude if they actually were looking for balance and the real picture. Instead there is this cognitive bias against the west because it's been bad in the past, so it must be being bad again. Can drive me a little nuts.
1
@SupportGoodHumans You might want to see a doctor about your inner ears.
1
Today Vlad Vexler Chat was talking about the politicisation of the Russian space, and how Ukraine and the west could be doing that. It was another fascinating YT video, which seems to sit neatly with this one.
1
These casts are so under rated. I think people see the low video and audio quality and skip it tbh.
1
Does he mean Levitan the painter?
1
@SiliconCurtain Bizarre - but I guess that shouldn't surprise.
1
@martavdz4972 I don't know. That's a good point.
1
@MJGMJGMJG In post 9/11 period - and also during parts of the Cold War, though I wasn't around for a lot of that - I would have agreed with you. But the left is stuck in that period, still pinning every bad thing on the US. But now we have Russia doing all the things the Kremlin has complained about the US doing. And worse. And with a truly criminal mafioso regime at the top which has pillaged the country and is now after the neighbours.

He's so good
1
The Defender's Dilemma was great, so I'll be getting this book as well.
1
I do wish you'd push for better video production quality Jonathan. I love your channel for the content, but it doesn't have the look. I'm quite sure that people therefore assume that it's a bit of a garden shed channel, and that it's not serious. You have exceptional guests, and I think you're great at what you do. I just want people who flick through the tubes to not swipe on.
1
Jesus H C, when are the B west going to wake up to what Russia has become. With a regime on this course, this is not going to just go away, and it's not "just staying in Ukraine" (as if that wasn't enough to get fully involved anyway). I am F 'ing frustrated by our dopey democratic representatives.
1
Better format for the algorithm.
1
Snap election in France!!
1
I'll happily be in the gang of anyone who has a model Thunderbird 2 on their bookshelf.
1
The Kremlin is well versed in this psychology that keeps the western citizens disengaged. That stuff was well researched of course. They will try and take Ukraine by boiling the frog. And a slow boil is dangerous to western democracies, how can you cohere a population against something so insidious, until it's on your doorstep and it's too late.

So much love to the roarer
