  6. Right, Tejanos, Nuevomexicanos and Californios did not participate in New Spains (today's central Mexico) politics and a decade of battes against Spain. Upon Mexican independence Mexico claimed the far northern territories and forced Mexican citizenship and a Mexican flag on descendants of Spanish colonial populations whose ancestors had become natives to the isolated distant northern lands. Interestingly Nuevomexicanos refused to ally with the Mexican Army to battle the Comanche, the Mexican goverenment were strangers to the north and Mexican patriotism was a challenge in these outer edge territories for the young Mexico who were not natives to California, New Mexico and Texas. The northern territories had been forming relationships with American settlers, merchants and mountain fur trappers since Spains historical borders were open in 1821 being influenced and in close proximety to Americas westward movement.

During the SW Mexican Period 1821-1846, Mexico failed to send military support to the SW to defend the descendants of 250 year Spanish colonizers against unconquered warrior Indians. Mexicos focus and finances was towards Mexico City and surrounding areas, it's heart and core. CA, NM/AZ, TX were unincorporated provinces not historically Mexico. Mexico never did control the far isolated northern quasi territories which were wide open to US takeover, the sparse populace unpatriotic--many remained loyal to Spain and open to American settlers.

  12. So much noise on taking back territory again. Mexico only flew it flag over California, New Mexico for 25 years. Texas for 10 years. Mexico's flag never flew over Nevada, Utah, Colorado or anywhere else, Because these lands were not colonized by Spain during the Spanish Colonial Period of 223 years, 1598-1821. Mexico never reached those lands during tbe 25 year SW Mexican Period because there were no people to govern outside CA, NM, TX. Had there been no USA, Mexicans would never have come north. After 1824 Mexican government officials with independence becoming the Republic of Mexico, and claiming Spains lands. It was the new government officials with its new flag who transplanted to California, met with resistance, and were gone by 1848. Chihuahuans and Sinaloans and those to the south didn't migrate till 1880 with USA westward movement and trains in 1910 Mexican Revolution. The truth is those from Sonora or Sinaloans or south of the borders ancestors were never from California which was very distant, a wilderness uninhabitable desert. The lands annexed by the USA are not ancestrally Mexico. Those were never your territory until they were taken from Spain 1821. Mexico was not capable of keeping the lands. 25 years is not nothing... 6th grade history.

Spain never colonized Utah during the Spanish Colonial Period 1598-1821, Mexico never colonized Utah 1821-1846 Mexican Period. In fact, there was no Utah to speak of until American settlers colonized the territory naming it Utah after the US Territorial Period 1848. And Ute tribes never were Mexican or mestizo, as there had been no Spanish to mix with back during the Spanish era. In fact there was no Mexico until 1821. Mexicans never lived in Utah until they migrated well into the 1900s as Mexican immigrants. The video fails to inform that Mexico was barely a nation 1821-1846 and had no control whatsoever over Utah which was never historically Mexico. Why, because the indigenous Utes controlled Utah, they were unconquered tribes until the United States took over the land before there was ever a Mexican in sight about 1950. Still live on your land, yah right, lol, unless you're a Ute . Let's get real...

California and SW were too far from Mexico City during the 250 years Spanish colonial era with too many unconquered tribes, , were barely populated or financed by Spain, Spain had lost from Louisiana to Florida before 1800 and was in the process of allowing land grant American settlers in Texas before Mexican independence. During the 25 years CA/SW Mexican era Mexicos heart and core was todays central Mexico not the distant wilderness territories up north who never were part of New Spains political upheavals and battles with Spain or independence from Spain. These territories were too close to the United States who had a vision for these lands which were a very distant waste land for the young Mexico who could not even manage central Mexico much less the outer edges of lands it claimed whose populations were unpatriotic to Mexico Additionally Mexico never never conquered the Indians who were still in control of their indiginous lands. . It just wasn't meant to be 300 years after European discoveries and claims to lands in what are today the United States and Mexico.

Under the Apatzingan 1814 constitution these Territories were not Mexico. Mexico of 1824 were Mexico's government claimed lands under its constitution. Spain didn't acknowledge Mexican independence and Spains King refused to sign the Treaty of Cordova. Spain did not sign over any of its lands to Mexico under any treaty or agreement. Looks like Mexicos government is more the thief than USA. Mexicans were attracted to the north with USA westward movement. Migrating to border areas approx 1880s...And since USA westward movement, Mexicans look only north. They've forgotten lands to their south, which Mexico claimed briefly too...

Californios, Spanish colonizers, were under Spains flag and were not participates in the New Spain/Spain battles or in Mexican independence. Both Russia and Americans had claims to California. After 1824 Mexican officials headed to California to claim it and replace Spains flag with Mexicos flag. The SW Spanish colonizers sided with Americans and the Indians never accepted foreign Mexicans crossing over wilderness areas to their very distant inherent lands.
