Going on for a million now! Thanks for giving the petition a heads-up.

My home city already has plans to ban all private transport inside the inner ring road by 2030. The only available public transport inside the exclusion zone will be “call-a-ride” electric minibuses for the disabled and elderly who cannot walk very far (and who will have to register for the service). Also, there will be no public transport circular service around the ring road. Goods vehicles making deliveries must be electric, and only operate between midnight and 6am, and only on approved routes.

It’s a MORI or similar poll. It’s limited.

Okay. Some basic chemistry… A polymer is any chain of identical molecules, the thermal and mechanical properties of which can be changed by a process called plasticisation. Starch is a naturally occurring long chain polymer of glucose (a polysaccharide - “multiple sugar” - carbohydrate). Plants produce it by photosynthesis. We eat plants to take advantage of the energy they store as starch, but it’s also used in many ways by industry, one of which is in a plasticised form as… plastic bags. This plastic is compostable but not recyclable, because it’s not derived from crude oil polymers. You're welcome.

My ex is paying for a TV licence for me, and I don't even have a TV or watch BBC channels. He muttered something about political prisoners...

Those who contribute nothing will eventually receive a means-tested state pension with perks not available to those who work and pay National Insurance.
2
Good grief! That rent is more than I earn every month!
2
Here’s something to chew on… Those who worked for their state pension don’t receive Pension Credit. Some are, of course, longterm disabled or ill, others carers who have spent years looking after longterm disabled or ill family; some simply struggled to find and/or retain employment, part-time or full-time.

I approve: recognition of enemy infiltration unit was part of the two WWs.
2
You know, back in the day, I was called all sorts of names for suggesting that maybe the Tamil Tigers had a valid point.
2
Every obvious Disney failure is reframed as a success, even more successful than the last success.
2
Er… the self-employed pay tax and National Insurance. Unless they outright own a very large company and can afford to pay accountants to move money offshore (which actually costs more than paying one’s dues).

Tbh, releasing the CCTV footage is naughty. It’s supposed to be in-house only, and anyone outside the organisation requiring to see it has to apply for permission, stating the reason(s) why it’s needed, even the police. I had assumed that airport services had deemed putting out the footage was in the public interest. After all, the phone footage was carefully curated and did not represent the whole incident, which might well have triggered an unwarranted backlash against airport staff or the police. Oh, wait. Didn’t a mob besiege a cop shop in a completely different city?

And that’s why the illegal migrants are now referred to as “irregulars”. Don’t forget that the Ottoman Empire tried to invade Europe twice!
2
That’s always been the plan: overwhelm the system by weight of numbers and presenting difficulties in finding out who exactly you are, and those in charge will take the easy way out.
2
How the heck can Labour be involved in the US elections?
2
Not just criminals, but crazies QED.
2
Comedy holds up a plain mirror to show the distortions of reality. No self-satisfied, po-faced, humourless extremist can tolerate that.
2
The RNLI are a great organisation. It’s a shame they’ve been dragged into this in their bi-centenary year.
2
The internet is forever, isn’t it? How inconvenient.
2
Of course it’s a carbon-based parking permit: it’s printed on paper.
1
Pay-per-mile for private car owners and business going about their business. Next up: pay-per-mile for anyone on a bicycle or foot, monitored via compulsory smartphone ownership.
1
Creeping 20 mile an hour limits in Leicestershire. No worry about those immediately outside schools, though.

Our local Caribbean Carnival was denied permission to run this year. The organisers tried to set up a street party instead, and were told no. Big shock: we have a Labour-dominated council. Btw the LGBTQetc parade was also banned. Funny old world, isn’t it?
1
Our local Asda now has one small entrance/exit, and multiple checkpoints with security guards. They react to any alarm and, I’m told, will detain well-known shoplifters if they suspect they’ve acquired a trifle or two, as it were.
1
It’s 40 cafes. Don’t frequent them. Job done.
1
£30k each? Don’t be an idiot. New staff start at the bottom of the payscale, and that’s minimum wage. I’d imagine most of the newbies will be Admin Officers.
1
Foreign nationals have been plundering fishing ponds and rivers for over 10 years already.
1
@ansarayub1395 hi, Leftwhinger!
1
I have no car; I can’t afford one. How much will I be charged per mile for using public transport?
1
@samanthahardy9903 I recommend "We'll Eat Again" by Marguerite Patten. The Home Front is fascinating.

It’s not possible to “learn everything for free”. English and Maths classes are free; basic motor vehicle maintenance courses (usually) aren’t. Many short courses are community or interest, so no certificate at the end e.g. Crochet for Beginners. Welding courses are quite expensive and students get proper qualifications at the end. You might want to look at your local college or adult education webpages… And every course provider has to run Right to Study checks for foreign nationals. If failed, no free courses.

“Decolonising” Hadrian’s Wall? Removing the moss and lichen of history?
1
Sir S will be repurposing that for anyone writing naughty tweets and dissing police dogs.
1
Have you noticed that Germany is the first country to close mosques and arrest or chuck out preachers of a certain extreme terrorist leaning? Its LW leaders are increasingly looking like fools, and voters are turning “RW”. Now, someone is looking at the Rwanda Plan…. Hm.
1
@markpearman2631 supporting my elderly mother and father. And yes, it was possible to buy a tatty old junker cheaply back then, but I wouldn't take my parents out in such a heap.
1
Of course the Leftwhinge Elitists won’t listen. Proving it is part of this exercise!
1
Oh? Can you prove this theory?

Most apt and a fair warning. According to the winning side, Wat started misbehaving at peace talks with the King, actually attacking the Mayor of London, only to flee with a serious wounds influcted by the latter and one of his retainers. The powers that be caught Wat at a poor hospital and executed him.
1
@Air7Rhythms apt is a synonym for appropriate: Wat refers to Wat Tyler. Boy , you need to get a dictionary and learn some English history!
1
@Air7Rhythms ffs - look up The Peasants' Revolt - as per the first post! And look up "apt" in the dictionary.
1
We have the first ball mill in Britain here. All the rubbish goes through it, whether from 1 or 4 bins. Heh.
1
Councils may be redirecting funds to cover other and more immediate costs. Bringing in or being required to support large numbers of people who do not contribute to the economy, for example.
1
Excuse me: the DWP will be obeying instructions given by the government.
1
Millions of pounds to the Unions, to keep them sweet (you imagine the working men and women who pay Union dues like being called RW thugs?) are small beer. Manufactured wars, climate change, completely insane foreign projects… those are sucking up billions we can’t afford.
1
It’s okay. Families of our new political prisoners will be required to publicly denounce them and state that they are not related in any way. Its de rigeur in China, apparently.
1
Hahahahahaha…. Oh, wait: you’re serious?
1
If it’s TB testing and treatment 👍👍 If it’s not…
1
Scam. Where’s the money really going?
1
Given there’s no report of nearby shops with broken windows, I’d say someone wants a new patio.
