The leaders of our countries that are Israeli allies need to bring all pressure available to reverse this, even if only factoring the future Israeli civilian deaths that will be caused by this.

I'm still not a fan but I've never seen her social media (not counting tweets that have made it to the MSM) and this conversation has given more perspective on who she is which is a giant leap away from the unrealistic caricature of a villain that has often been what's in the MSM since she first became famous.

@Spielkalb-von-Sparta more updates about this. The Local, Butler county, District Attorney Richard Goldinger offered a correction to Paris's testimony. He said only one of the 2 officers who saw Crooks acting suspiciously left the building to go look for Crooks, the other moved around the building to try to spot Crooks from another window. And also the original window where they spotted a suspicious Crooks on the ground, didn't have a view of where Crooks shot from, on the roof in question. All this info was from a CNN article if interested.

Before I watched this I only knew Mia from her pornography career and media coverage of it and a few of her most controversial tweets around Hamas and Oct 7. My view was negative( the porno work only because of the damage to arab women, culture etc, from the most controversial film, any other films that didn't involve cultural/religious clothing I had no issue with). And after this interview I may still not be a fan, but I have a much more rounded and closer to positive view of her than the negative view that MSM media had led me to believe.

Joe Manchin is a corporate sellout, not a moderate. A moderate aims to govern for the majority, not the rich elite. Ross is trolling and/or trying for a bad Democrat get out the vote. His contribution to this episode is that of a rubbish journalist. I would've thought Josh Shapiro is more the moderate to fill the spot? Although maybe VP on a ticket with Whitmer would be better.

26:53 This argument falls down when Biden's age problem has reached the level and will only stay the same or grow worse but won't decrease, leading to a Trump victory. Of course replacing Biden via votes in a primary would've been better, but that wasn't given as an option and we are all now aware that Biden is too old to serve another four years (Trump's too old as well in my opinion, on top of being a bat-shit crazy liar). So the voters motivated to not have Trump back in office will turn out for any of the several capable democrat names that come up (Joe Manchin definitely isn't one of them).

@MrBlackspook seemingly believing that Trump doesn't exponentially lie massively more than any other major political figure in a dangerous way is either delusional or deceitful. It's a tried and true essential tactic of political extremists for a long time. Lie on such a big level that the citizen no longer believes the truth when they hear hit among the ocean of lies. Improving media literacy and denouncing all lies is the antidote.

The far left from Biden are fairly unhappy with immigration restrictions in the executive order from recent months that have driven down border crossings to lower than they were under Trump in October 2020(and that had the help of COVID to restrict numbers). And that's not even starting on the achievements they are happy with. Really need to pay better attention

According to Gazan health ministry the deaths in Gaza have roughly halved since the peak of 300+ /day to most recently being roughly 150/day on average. This is still TOO MANY and the article details this viewpoint if read and not just reacting to the headline. Your comment is very misleading and unhelpful. My personal view is all the hostages should go home to their families, the death and suffering of Gazans needs to stop through a ceasefire and true negotiations to find a path forward should be prioritised immediately.

@michellemooresings I have heard that captured terrorists are not afforded the same protections as prisoners of war and similar international laws. Also have heard individuals(including members of Hamas) can be found guilty of crimes against humanity under international law and this process has already been started in response to October 7th. Not sure what you meant, as well as in terms of the current situation in Gaza. Hamas may have less legal protections under international law as terrorists, but this doesn't negate any of the legal protections civilians have. Want to be clear, I am not saying Israel has ignored all legal protections for civilians, the IDF has a long history of clear attempts to comply with international law. The intensity of the current conflict is unprecedented, increasing the likelihood of unprecedented outcomes.

@michellemooresings have also seen speeches from Mosab Yousef who became an undercover agent of Israeli intelligence and is credited for preventing many bombings and assassinations. His statements about Hamas treatment of Hamas prisoners(especially suspected spies) are backed up by Sinwar's(Hamas leader in Gaza) own admission of torturing suspected traitors. There is a decent Vice video from 2011 or 2012 where they do a tour of Gaza and gives good insight into parts of Hamas and some of life under Hamas. Agree 💯 that hearing from one side is a mistake and it is very important to have an open, sceptical mind. Best of luck sorting through the fact and fiction that surrounds us these days!

@DKK seems to me that he is using rationality over emotions. Doesn't see either party as ideal, "the lesser of two evils", but does see the Republican party being taken over by isolationists and reactionaries and not advocating the policies of "his party", the old school Republicans. Brushing him off for supposedly being "emotional" is a pathetic cop out and factually incorrect, and if Trump continues to insult and push away old school Republican voters, it's going to negatively impact him in the general election.

@jcg333 you're doubling down on your naivety. Journalism has always had an opinion lane. It's when it's muddied with objective journalism that creates problems. Hence the podcast title! Legit debate on validity etc can be had but not recognising the difference between opinion reporting and objective reporting is an example of the really important present day problem that is information illiteracy. If still confused, here's a definition "Objective reporting is meant to portray issues and events in a neutral and unbiased manner, regardless of the writer's OPINION or personal beliefs". "Opinion journalism is journalism that makes no claim of objectivity, it features a subjective viewpoint, usually with some social or political purpose". Both are forms of journalism that have been around forever.

It can't be true for both sides and I take it as evidence that to draw criticism from the fringes of both sides, they're doing something right.

The odds have been so heavily stacked in Trump's favour from the beginning (his significant, devoted base is 💯 X legit), that to bet otherwise could be seen as complete lunacy. But the universe can be a wild, chaotic place occasionally and sometimes people hit the jackpot with a longshot. (Caveat, I hate the pokies in every way possible and I am not a gambling man, and anyone involved in US political planning should be basing it on Trump being the G.O.P. nominee with minor attention to alternative contingencies just in case). This said I don't want to see the headline and news changed to The GOP primary is over, Trump's won already so there's no point in having the rest of the primary votes and let's anoint Trump King already.😉 Of course I'm exaggerating, and realise this isn't really your point. I'm more trying to highlight the distortions algorithms and polarisation brings to the surface and this leads to a need to push back by increasing media and online literacy so as not to be fooled by sometimes very effective Bullsh*t.

"there would be safeguards in place". Previous Republican presidencies (incl. Trump) have worked to weaken safeguards, and Trump's immunity argument is the latest attempt to weaken democratic safeguards. Safeguards on democracy work until they are weakened enough to fail. Definitely hope there are safeguards that have procedures for your second point, "he would immediately be stripped of his office until a proper hearing", but hope they are more than impeachment by congress which has proven to be wholly inadequate.

@dimitrioskantakouzinos8590 twist and warp statistics all you want, but the overall fact that lack of gun control causes unnecessary violent deaths on a massive scale doesn't change. Also googled your statistics claim word for word and the top result said the opposite : "Examining violent crime, homicide, rape, robbery, and assault for 1,997 counties in the United States, the findings indicate that increased prevalence of firearms was associated with increased violent crime, homicide, rape, robbery, and assault." This story is an example of why some people should not have access to guns, not only for the safety of those around him but also for their safety. If his access to guns was restricted, he may have not ended his life and may have got the help he so desperately needed. Serious Mental health issues and guns are a deadly mix.
