Anyone covering the war from the west with any intelligence didn't side with Prigozhin and ignore the fact that if the coup was successful and he had taken over from Putin, he may have been a lot worse than Putin. A world without Putin at first glance would be less dangerous, except for the lack of viable alternatives due to decades of crushing any opposition through assassination, imprisonment, control of the press etc as well as his pushing/support/pandering of far right nationalism that brings his style of government much closer to 1930's Germany than he claims Ukrainian government to be(Putin's anti LGBTQ+ laws one of many examples). Also the fact that Russia has the largest nuclear arsenal makes the thought of a Russian civil war even more scary.
