@FreshLyte So why was the mob there in the first place, as a protest? Who ever heard of protesting an election result? I suppose they might do that in South America. Trump's own lawyers disclosed Trump was aware he had lost the election
2
If they weren't there to overthrow the government, why were they there? Trump's own lawyers disclosed the fact Trump was fully aware he had lost the election. The plan was to have Mike Pence "throw the election back to the states" - an illegal act.
2
@thehouseoflight So why were they there? Trump's own lawyers disclosed he was fully aware he had lost the election at the time.
2
Trump: "Be there it will be wild"
2
@jacquelinefrench1570 If the GOP wanted to have an investigation, why did they vote against having one? Why is Trump trying to hide his involvement in the courts?
2
An inquiry is not an impeachment. It's a fishing trip.
2
That cherry picked footage was released months ago.
2
@Shei-vei Were the cops faking injuries? You people are strange. How do you fake a riot on the capital steps?
2
@Shei-vei You are saying the crash of the Hindenburg didn't happen because someone released film footage of nothing happening in tail end? How strange is that?
2
@alexwalker5645 Those are accusations, most of which have been debunked.
2
@rogerward801 One of the "eye witnesses" admitted receiving payment for his testimony.
2
@CJM6 Likely because they cost $3,000 each.
2
@The_DC_Kid Definition of 'mob': "a large crowd of people, especially one that is disorderly and intent on causing trouble or violence." it was a mob.
2
@terrillwolf2552 Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards who was injured in the Capitol riot said she saw officers with "blood all over their faces" and was "slipping in people's blood" during the attack on January 6th.
2
@bobswanson8790 Evidence of what? You can't just take a bunch of random video and call it evidence. We all saw what happened on Jan 6. Nothing can take away from it.
2
@bobswanson8790 It's not evidence. What went on at the back of the capital is not the same as the front. So what? Why would you expect it to be the same? There were 80,000 people there. 10,000 took part in the insurrection. A lot of people did not take part.
2
@hydrolito Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards who was injured in the Capitol riot said she saw officers with "blood all over their faces" and was "slipping in people's blood" during the attack on January 6th.
2
@RichardChappell1 The penalty for trespassing is a fine. Where is your evidence they were "allowed" in? Where is the trespassing section of the Constitution? I must have missed that one.
2
@secularmagahat4933 Testimony? They watched them commit crimes on video.
2
@scotthargrove8750 Just how gullible are you? Trump thanked them after it ended. They did what they were told.
2
@cross-eyedmary6619 Trump tried to overthrow the government.
2
@americanpatriot3746 Oh, was there video footage of a peaceful rally? That would be kind of hard to do, wouldn't it? If Pelosi has secret video footage, how did you see it?
2
@joetrevino1607 140 police were injured, some very seriously. This, from the party of ' law and order' . Let them rot in jail.
2
@scotthargrove8750 He addressed the mob. He even had a taxpayer funded stage built. He pointed the way.
2
@scotthargrove8750 He planned it to try to stay in power.
2
@scotthargrove8750 You aren't very informed. I'm talking to a log. Watching too much Fox News? Jan 6, he sought to cancel the electoral college vote in the Senate and "take the election to the states". He sent his mob in to do that. Taking the election to the states happens to be illegal.
2
@scotthargrove8750 Insurrection act? This was an insurrection, an attempted coup. Trump wanted to stay in power.
2
@scotthargrove8750 It was the plan..
2
@scotthargrove8750 I quoted Trump. I personally wouldn't plead the Fifth. I have nothing to hide.
2
@scotthargrove8750 Forget about the Insurrection Act. After his inciting speech Trump pointed toward the capital. He didn't tell the mob to go home until well after the attack ended. Electoral College votes come from the states, but there is no mechanism for going back to the states for a new set of electors if you didn't like the way the first step voted, especially if they are from the party that lost. That's attempting to steal an election.
2
Nothing you said was true. Most of them plead guilty as charged.
2
@lorihoop3831 All Trump had to do was call it off. He chose to watch it on TV for three hours instead.
2
When you attack the capital building this is what you should expect.
2
@eagle1579 The FBI didn't investigate Trump.
2
@jimpollard113 Trump addressed the mob and sent them to the capital. Believe it or not, but participating in an attack on the capital is not a presidential function. I don't think the constitution includes that.
1
@torsionjimify What would be the function of sending thousands of supporters to the capital on the day the Senate finalizes the election if it wasn't to overturn the results? "Be there, it will be wild".
1
@torsionjimify Parading around with Confederate flags? Smearing the capital walls with poop? What is your definition of patriotism?
1
@torsionjimify Look up "Southern Strategy" and sit down.
1
If you are referring to Jan 6, it wasn't peaceful and no patriots took part. @torsionjimify
1
What are these jokers talking about? Trump's lawyers (the one's who flipped) revealed Trump knew he had lost the election from day one. He knew this when he invented "stop the steal". He knew this when he advertised : "be there. It will be wild". This wasn't a protest. You don't protest something that does not exist. It was an attempt to reverse the outcome of an election.
1
Trump instigated the whole thing. "Be there, it will be wild". What do you think he meant by that?
1
@danielespey4116 As long as it is only parts.
1
The 14th doesn't require a trial. It was written after the Civil War to keep insurrectionists out of government. They had no trials back then and trials aren't required today.
1
Of course this "oversight" isn't political at all. Right? At least the Democrats passed legislation helpful the the American people. One of the parties is on the job.
1
@wendybac2041 The one's held are the one's who opted for a jury trial. It's their own doing.
1
@emiliacrow6504 Most of them pleaded guilty.
1
Lose to a convicted felon? Trump doesn't talk much about Project 2025. I wonder why?
1
@jeffrodrequez There's a lot to be said about it because Project 2025 is the brainchild of the Heritage Foundation, Trump's bosses. Oh, he'll follow it. Do you like the part where the government will monitor all pregnancies? Small government my a**. Police state would be a better way to describe it.
1
They were hard to catch.
1
@danros6530 Yes, you are confused. Why did Trump invite those people to Washington on Jan 6? His former lawyers , last week, all said he was fully aware he had lost the election. What was the "protest" for if it wasn't to somehow steal the election?
