  9.  @MrFarmax  It's not the West in general so much as certain countries in the West, such as Britain and the USA, together with France, who are causing much of the problems with immigration by either causing war (Iraq) or helping others cause war (Saudi Arabia in Yemen). Certain countries just can't seem to break the imperialism habit.

Cripto136: you do not condemn modern atrocities committed by the USA the way you condemn the Holocaust, Nazism, communism, Stalinism, Maoism, etc. Also, all the things you mention are condemned long after they happened, when nothing can be done and no one can be punished; no genuine restitution or reparations - native Americans still live second class lives on reservations, blacks are still ghettoized, Hispanics discriminated against; the people who oversaw genocide and slavery (your founding fathers, for instance) are still lionised, as are the politicians, generals and soldiers who all played a part in the less savoury parts of US history. Yet Germany and Japan are expected to be uniquely sorry for their country's behaviour as if the Americans, British, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italians and Dutch behaved somehow differently and be forever apologising for wars that, if we are being honest, were at least in part forced on them by others, and wars at that, that happened more than a generation ago.

  38. Note how there's no criticisms of homosexuality or transsexuality per se. Note how the criticism is framed purely in terms of them offending Christians. In a secular society largely made up of the anti-religious and homo-tolerant this opens up religious people who condemn such behaviour as being homophobic and bigoted, thus further reinforcing the taboo against criticism of sexual deviance and turning it into a debate between progressives and conservatives; modernity versus tradition; bigots versus the enlightened. It's the same with immigration: you can't criticise immigration based on the race of the immigrants; criticism is solely confined to discussions as to whether or not it's legal or illegal immigration, or whether there is too much immigration, etc.
