  42. I'm a scientist that researches physiological sex differences and the difference between sex and gender is very well established in the literature. You should use the word 'male' when talking about sex, not 'men'. Men and women refer to gender, which by the way has plenty of utility, most of your life decisions will be influenced by your gender, however you identify it. It will fall on a spectrum between traditionally masculine and feminine behaviours.

  45.  @DRPenha  'female' is a sex. 'Woman' is a gender. Sex heavily correlates with one gender over another but it doesn't have to, e.g. trans and non-binary people. Sex is 'real', genetic and phenotypic. Gender is 'imagined'; there's nothing about the colour blue that is inherently masculine, it's just become associated culturally in our society, other societies across time and space don't have this association, (often the opposite). Sex is always stable and unchanging. Gender is often stable and unchanging for many, for others it's fluid, this is in no way dangerous or scary. So you can all relax. There's no way to possibly argue sex and gender are the same. You're instead arguing that gender doesn't exist full stop (I think), which is also wrong. A transwoman is a woman. But they are also male. Hopefully that clears up the distinction for all you folks.
