The natives before her were native Africans by the standards of what we now identify as Africa, Cleopatra may well have been mixed greek and native Egyptian (definitely not Arab). Today they are descended from invading Arabs, then the native Egyptians would have been a mixture of colours, plenty of sub saharan Africans (by today's standards) existed in Upper Egypt in particular (which is in the Sahara), Lower Egyptians probably had a lighter skin tone like the Amazigh people of North Africa, if you class them as black or white by today's standards seems unimportant to me. Any Cleopatra was almost certainly mixed race and so is Adele James.
