Looking back it was utter madness but i can see why it was such a big deal at the time. Different times i guess. Great video mate.

Ah those were the days mate

I agree with allot of the comments here mate. The way we communicate has moved on in the last 40 years. In the 70's phone calls were expensive so radio was a cheap way to communicate. Now u can talk to and see people anywhere in the world for free from a device u can carry in your pocket. Its a sad fact that radio is an outdated form of communication. Its only advantage is that its instent u press a butten and u can be heard speaking u dont have to wait for some one to answer a call. So for emergency use its still the best solution. I will always have a radio i love it and if its in your blood its there for life. This was a great video mate very clever well done.

Maxon stuff is always good stuff it just seems to work. I used to sell loads of it about 15 to 20 years ago. Love the good quality receive audio on those that u have there mate.

Absolutely superb little radio! I have the vhf and uhf versions and they both work really well. Great video mate well put togeather. Thanks Rog hahaha
3
Great video mate. Very well put together and full of information. I love your review's
3
I remember these Lewis. They are a far better radio than the other 2 u mentioned once programmed up. The Hora was the only competition to the cheaper Alinco hand helds as their hand helds were far less expensive than the big 3 names at the time. Great video mate
3
Excellent mate just brilliant you are superb at this sort of video. Bravo Lewit amazing work. Thank u very much!
3
hahaha love it u 2 are really funny together. Im not sure wich is the funiest the person that just doesnt get radio (thats just about every one) or the radio guy that that gets defensive when people ask about it. haha. Cracking video lads really good.
3
That looks an interesting radio mate. Well worth a try for that sort of money. The only problem i can see is we will all need bigger houses to store all of these Chinese radios that we are all collecting hahaha.
3
Very interesting video mate. I remember the brand new cases from the AOR 3000 and 3000a being for sale from the AOR's the air service bought to install in their towers. They were stripped out of their brand new enclosure's and they sold the cases for £70 each. Its great how your videos trigger memorise like that.
3
Doesnt look to bad mate. I would prefer to pay a bit extra and get the 320 or rt3. Good review tho as always. Great video.
2
Very nice looking package mate i realy like the blue bits. Whats the actual push to talk butten feel like? Iv noticed some of them are hard to push.
2
loads of good points about network radios well covered there lads. For all those that say what if the network ever goes down it wont work what then? Well so what what did we do before all this tech was available? We didnt worry about what if thats for sure. Use it for what it is.
2
Andy sounds like a proper shady character lol remind u of any one lol
2

2
Nice audio again. I had forgotten about this allocation there were quite a fiew radios made for this part of the band. Some were quite good.
2
We called them Fisher Price radios lol they did work quite well tho. Iv got a pile of the Maxon version ones somewhere.
2
Pleased it wasnt just me that struggled with the battery lol. We deffo get great value for money with these mate. Its funny u comparing it to a uv3 coz my uv3 is also very loud even on its lowest volume setting. Did u do the same as me and try and turn the torch to turn it on? Hahaha
2
Lol mint. So yeah Andy that means you hahaha
2

2
Nice video mate well put together and very informative as always.

I do know that our new king was sent an Audioline 340 when cb was first legalised in the uk. Havent a clue if he used it. It was reported in one of the cb mags at the time tho. Dave lee Travis was also big into cb as well but his name isnt so pc any more. Interesting video mate. Hope u are well.
2
Hussein of Jordan was really active on amateur radio
2
Looks like a great little radio mate.
2
Was funny tho Martin lol

Glynn H hi Glynn i like the gd77 as well for the money its a super little radio. I like the look of this one but i guess its a gd77 in a uv5r jacket. Total winner if u ask me mate.
2
Nice looking radio mate iv noticed there aren't many of these cheap radios for sale on vhf if any at all. Dont know if u have seen any? U have a huge choice of repeaters near u I have 2 on uhf lol cant hit either of them on a hand held from my house or anywhere in the town lol
2
@AC-nt1ph hi the main thing i have foundcis when using the cps to program the radio. Its very basic and doesnt seem to have ever been updated. I have had issues with settings that have not been transferred to the radio from cps properly. But the radio works very well and build quality is great better than most Chinese radios. It doesnt seem to suffer from breakthrough on receive like some of these cheaper radios do. All in all well worth what u pay for them.
2
I remember these and the ones that came after. They were always out of my budget but i always wanted one.
2
I remember the Rabit system but not the other 3 so i guess Rabit was advertised more widely was if?
2
Yeah i did enjoy that one it was very interesting. Nice one mate
2
Thats dedication that is making videos for us in those conditions lol cheers mate.
2
Well that was amazing mate great video there i did test the WLN and found it managed 1.7 watts on tx and receive was really good. Havent done one of these yet but will get to it at some stage.
2
Very interesting video as always me old mate.
2
Quite like that little radio mate. Ideal just to keep in ya pocket just in case.
2
I think they are a really good idea Lewis iv looked at them for a while but same as u i just dont know if i would use it enough to warrant even £130 when me phone does the same thing. I have to say the ptt in the center of the screen is inconvenient so the ptt on the side and the look of those phones is a big bonus. Do u find the lag and latency using Zello a problem?
1
Hi Mate I had herd that these were upgradable from tear 1 to tear 2. Is this not the case? ]=
