I wish people like you had paid more attention in school.

@briankelly5828 -1.3 million hectares stolen by the Crown. -Maori disproportionately poorer than Pakeha. -Maori life expectancy ten years lower. -Making arguments with the poorly educated rarely educates them. There's some facts for you.
20
LOL.
18
@bobsemple07 Yes, and fixing it is addressing SYSTEMIC issues.
17
No, he doesn't. You need a better education.
13
Nah, doesn't seem like it really. Perhaps you need some history and law lessons.
13
@bighorn1994 Nah, it's Seymour and his voters who should leave. Their racism against tangata whenua doesn't belong here. Speaking as tangata te tiriti myself.
12
Nah.. No one needs to hear that shit.
11
@lesrestall807 LOL. Well you certainly didn't.
9
LOL. Incorrect. She should be forced to get an education.
8
@naisyjohns Oh yeah, so what are they doing then? Enlighten us.
8
@peterlattimore6013 I'm an adult educator. I educate the poorly educated over the internet.
7
@dillianwhyte443 Go back to school.
6
LOL
6
@throughput6674 True that. I just wish David Seymour had learned more before he opened his ignorant mouth. Tautoko.
6
Ok, racist. Europe is that way. Haere ra!
5
@dillianwhyte443 Because 1) I don't get paid to educate you, and 2) I don't want to listen to Winston First babble on again. Educate yourself.
5
Seek help.
5
@naisyjohns Nah, nah, nah.. They say they want to have a "conversation" about the treaty.. To their supporters, that seems to mean getting rid of certain aspects of how the government functions with regard to Maori, e.g. the Maori health authority. And built into this "conversation" is white supremacy, and ignorance of international treaty law, because they're talking about the "treaty" and not "te tiriti", and in accordance with international treaty law, te tiriti is the only one that matters.
5
@bobsemple07 Nah, there is, his "discussion" is just racist dog whistling.
5
@marcusworrall3386 Yeah, for sure. Most of the land theft was after that too. They tried to justify it by claiming it was about aggression from Maori, but a lot of that was from tribes that didn't sign the treaty, so they were within their rights to respond to British settlers encroaching on their territory.
4
The Crown = the Government. Go back to school.
4
@briankelly5828 1. Nonsense. 2. Why do you think that is? Are you dense? 3. Yes, and that s the point of the Maori health authority to try and change those things that don't change overnight. 4. The problem with Aotearoa's economy is that wages and benefits haven't kept up with worker productivity or inflation for four decades. That's what really depresses incomes. 5. LOL. Hilarious. As if it is me who needs to read more Michael King. You're the one being too simplistic. Which is ridiculous if you've actually read what you say you've read. 6. Go back to school.
4
Being economically left wing is a prerequisite for being pro environmental protectionist. Not to mention being pro human rights, which the Greens are, because what other reason other than humanism would one have to be pro environmental protectionist. This isn't the own you think it is.
4
LOL.
4
@rockyjones2563 Not really. Labour have been a center right neoliberals party since the 80s, and as such we've had four decades of wages and benefits not keeping up with worker productivity and inflation, which has contributed to a rise in poverty and a housing crisis. They didn't just legalize cannabis instead of putting it to a bullshit referendum, which would have been the right thing to do based on the evidence. The only good thing they handled well was COVID, but they still managed the economy better than any National government would too, but of course the poorly educated don't understand any of that.
4
No, that's not what's happening at all. International law stipulates that with treaties like Te Tiriti, the indigenous language version is the one that is to be recognized, and in Te Tiriti Maori never seceded sovereignty, so realistically 50% of parliament should be made up of Maori seats. Seymour and Luxon are trying to dishonour tangata te tiriti's end of the deal, and as tangata te tiriti myself, I find that disgusting. We need to honour what the Crown signed us up for and give Maori the 50% of power that Te Tiriti ensures. Not try to destroy Te Tiriti altogether like they're trying to do.
4
LOL
4
Did Bridges just use the ol' Trump "they were laughing with me, not at me" bit?.. LOL.
3
@21kiwi24 You need a better education. International law stipulates that we defer to the indigenous language version or treaties, and in Te Tiriti, Maori never seceded sovereignty. Also, not all Maori tribes signed the treaty, so the ones who took up arms were entitled to, and to top that off, the Crown stole some lands from some tribes BEFORE they ever took up arms.
3
@simplygreen5832 Yes, because it is dysfunctional. And that's not antisemitic because Palestinians are semitic too.
3
Because this is Aotearoa.
3
@lesrestall807 LOL. You shouldn't. This government is bad for this country.
3
Actually, as per Te Tiriti, there should be more Maori seats so they make up 50% of the seats in parliament. Unless you think we pakeha shouldn't stick to the deal we made? Interestingly though, you're right about them being racist, because they were created when Maori were still the majority of the population in order to disenfranchise Maori. Need to fix that by increasing them from 7 to 60.
3
TBF, most of you are poorly educated.
3
@Hog-iv7tj Our schools aren't that great, as they seem to have failed many of you racists.
3
@AmonAnon-vw3hr No, people expecting journalists to be unbiased is cringe. We should expect them to be objective, and if they were objective, they would be much more biased towards Chloe. But being smart is commonly accepted to be "cringe" so I guess wrong is right, and right is wrong.
3
Your brain is very, very smooth. Go back to school.
3
Thought you guys wanted us all to be one people? What happened to that? They can't involve themselves in elements of the introduced culture?
3
So the cops are just sitting on 200K?.. TF?.. If you look or wait around a bit, I think you should be able to pocket it.. I lost my wallet recently with a few hundred cash in it, nobody returned to me even though it had my license inside it. If you've got something to go on, you should return it, but if not..
2
"Is that what the parents would do?"(Turn a blind eye.) Yes. At that age, I wouldn't give a fuck.
2
He should be prosecuted to fullest extent of the law. Home invasion, theft and property damage are all crimes that have victims. Using cannabis is an action that creates no victims. Further, the opinions of people like yourself, and Tee here, is completely invalidated by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Article 9, so it should be ignored.
2
LOL. Stay mad.
2
LOL. You've mislead yourself there, then.. They just showed you the STATISTICS. Your anecdotal perceptions are shit.
2
@dobbynp LOL. Nonsense.
2
@throughput6674 Nah, I'm a Green voter and I'm annoyed most of this country is poorly educated.
2
LOL
2
I doubt they are fake accounts. This country is extremely poorly educated.
2
@CheekyPinoy-rv1io LOL. Yeah, nah, I'm sure you're right, and it's only Chloe who has ever uttered that phrase.
2
"Radical" is the wrong word in my opinion. It just gives fuel to the poorly educated who don't understand political science and philosophy to make out the Greens, the economic left, and social libertarians are somehow "extreme". And I get that "radical" in relation to this right wing Overton window is possibly the correct framing, but they don't get that, and probably interpret it to mean that we want them to be "far left", when they are only barely center left, and what we really need is for them to be solid left.
