  5.  @rogermartin8435  in terms of the recent hui, I'd like to point out that there were official ground rules put in place by Kiingi Tuuheitia that: "Te Kiingitanga expects manuhiri to adhere to the following five tikanga: Tumatawhaanui/inclusivity Taiaroha/positivity Whakataikaha/strengths-based  Rangimaarie/peace He ahu whakamua/future-focused". From all the footage I saw (I attended online) I didn't notice any aggression, and there were no reports of violence or violent rhetoric. The suggestion that the hui was aggressive is not shown as far as I can see.

In the last month, anti-Maaori rhetoric has become the norm in social media. For example, I have had death threats made against myself and my family, been called all kinds of racial slurs and been told to stay in my place. Another point of difference is the assertion that TPM are aggressive, I would say pissed off maybe, but they are speaking truth to power. From the perspective of their constituents they are defending the right to be Maaori, and I agree.
