  2. @29:00 Can Rajeev explain what has been lacking in India institutions that STEM students have gone abroad for higher studies? One the one hand, we liberalized India in 1990 so that foreign investments can come in, and now, on the other hand, why should we keep our education sector closed? Doesn't make sense to me.

  4. There is a big difference between BJP's goodies and AAP's goodies. Whereas AAP giving free electricity and water, does not provide any employment opportunity, BJP's free food grain yojana benefits farmers, as their produce is used. AAP giving electricity only increases India's import of coal and crude, widening India's deficit.

Also, during Modi-I, the inflation did not go above 2.5%, the best it has been historically for India. Also, now the inflation is much lower than at the end of UPA-I (15.7%) and at the end of UPA-II (9.5%). So not sure what you are complaining about?

  10. You can see that wherever BJP is a junior partner, such as Akali-SAD in Punjab, JD(U) in Bihar, or PDP in Kashmir, and BMC, things have gone wrong. However, when they take lead role, things start clicking. This is something to think about. Also, in past three years, MVA had done nothing in the name of Infra development in Mumbai. So, this BMC elections, give a thumbs up to the ED (Eknath-Devendra) government.

But you don't understand the data, it shows that WB is asking for more money from the center than what it can generate from its revenue compared to UP and MP, even if centre pitches less money in absolute terms to WB than UP and MP. it is the percentage of the total revenue.

  26. AAp hasn't paid the salary of teachers in DU for a while now. They are doing the same in Punjab as well. They talk a lot and do almost negligible. if Kejriwal had no spent all those tax payers money on advertisement, AAP would have been able to pay the teachers on time.

  30.  @pamtam1  We need to look into the actual value that is collected not the rate. That is why we have a rate in the first place. If Adani earns 100x more than a poor, then the tax that comes out of him will also be 100 times more than the poor at the fixed rate. Ultimately, we need to look into revenue we generate and not the rate at which we generate the revenue.

  34. It is state by state problem. In Gujarat, the process is quite streamlined and super easy. Other states have a huge bureaucracy. Except Gujarat, all other states are laggard in terms of doing business.

How does the state government have any right on religious properties? And this treatment is done only to Hindu places of worship. Churches and mosques are exempt from this discriminatory treatment. Secularism, which demands separation of state and religion, is openly violated in TN.

  48.  @motei1853  i don't agree with you on automation and people. Automation by definition would mean to use fewer people, so i don't know how automation would benefit from more people. Another issue in India is that there are far too many people in agri, which contributes quite poorly to our gdp. For example, in Punjab more than 75% of people are into agriculture. We could have lifted people out of agriculture or increase its productivity by adopting the 3 farm laws, but what can you do when people dont realize what is good for them. Waiting for your thoughts.
