  5. It's a good thing countries that have warm/hot weather, Spain and Italy, plant these things called TREES and have infrastructure that accommodates cylers and pedestrians. My sister lived in Iran and would cycle everywhere, yes IRAN, a country in the middle East.

Nope!!! most developed counties in the world have mass transit in smaller settlements. i've been ti villages in spain that have trams and trails, villages with at most 10,000 people, mostly rural by the way. Suburbia is a hellscape, its nothing but identical foam houses that stretch out endlessly. There is nothing to do, nowhere to go and nothing to really enjoy. i would HATE living in an american suburb.

  21. lol!!! fun fact, most cities in north America were also built before the car. The difference is during the 60's the auto and oil industries completely reshaped the american urban landscape, by that i mean destroyed, and demolished entire streets and building just to re-design it for cars.

  24. To me, suburbs are an incredibly toxic environment with dull and boring people not to mention unattractive housing and sprawling asfault. There's NOTHING "green" about them despite what suburbanites say. They are ecologically destructive and unsustainable. Hong Kong is a gross exaggeration of what a city is like. It's highly dense due to space and urban planning, not to mention expense.

  30. As someone who raised in suburbia, i found it to be one if the most hellish experiences of my life. It's isolated and boring. I'd much rather raise a kid in a Dutch or mixed zoned city a.k.a a normal human settlement, than a suburb.

Ghost towns in Europe happened due to dying industry's, war and financial down turns. That being said most towns in Europe are still occupied till this day.
