Is it age or fame and money which influences? I think that ruins creativity more than age does. I know many bands which had to fight hard to break through, but the record after they became successful are almost always weaker than the record before. And ff course when you are young and just started playing music things are new and so I think you are more enthousiastic, the older you become things get more normal.
I enjoyed music more than I do now, because it was all new. Metal, New Wave, Prog Rock, it was all new, but when did we see a new musical style evolve? People copy older styles, there is nothing really new.
And there is so much music around us, that is the problem too. When I started to work 6 days a week and 8 to 12 hours a day, the radio was always on. When I got home, I was saturated and had no desire to put on a record. Before that I was at school and when I got home at 4 pm or later I was eager to put my radio on, but if I have listened to music 8 to 12 hours already, I have had more than enough. I wanted to turn the music off at work, but ky collegues couldn't live without it. And I hated it, music I didn't like and new songs played every our for 4 weeks, ughhh.
If we eat turkey each and every day, it become normal, nothing special. But if we safe it for special occassions, it is great. So, we should have more time without music, so we enjoy the moments more when the music is on or we make music.
Btw have your heard Andy Timmons his new album? That man still makes the most beautiful music, but sadly you never had him on your show.
And what about U2? They renew themselves over and over.
There are still people out there who didn't lose that creativity, but it comes all down to how much do you really love what you do and if people don't let themselves get saturated with too much music.
It is the same with movies, before we had Netflix, we were eagerly awaiting new movies to come out in the theaters or for a new episode of which ever series. But then Netflix and other streaming services entered the market and we could watch movies and series 24/7, so it wasn't that special anymore.
There is an overkill of music, movies, series, food, etc and that is what ruins everything!

You are right Rick! Technology is great, but it also made people lazy and complacent.
Now music is everywhere 24/7. But when I was young, you did not listen to music in the bus, at school, during running or in the shops. We were used to silence or just chatting without any distraction. Now people cannot go without background noise anymore, afraid of the silence. People get overdosed on noise and ditraction, and aren't used to just sit down for a chat or sit down to enjoy music. People have to be distracted all day, because they aren't use to quiet periods during the day, so they cannot stand it, let alone appreciate it. You can listen to music everywhere, so why sit down for it?
When we came home from school or work, you were looking forward to put your cassette in the cassette player, the record on the record player and later the cd in the cd player or just turn the radio on and just sat down to listen, soak in the music. And it was magical when you went to town to visit the record shop with your hard earned cash, browsing through the racks with albums. The smell, the images on the covers, the store owner who knew what you liked and helped you search for that one album and then the listening at the counter through head phones or if you were lucky, through the loud speakers in the store.
But now there is too much music, it is too easily available, too cheap and also has lost its value. It has become background noise for people who are not used (and often afraid) of the silence. Overdosed on distraction and noise, their concentration span is as low as the memory span of a gold fish.
We need to slow down, put away our phones, learn to appreciate the silence, so when can appreciate the times when we hear music. Same goes for human interaction, now on parties of youngsters eveybody is holding a phone, like junkies clinging to their last (you know what), instead of chatting and enjoying music together, it is a PAT party (as in LAT relation) Party alone together, we are togther, but all on our own digital island.
It is the same as a proper meal, if you never have one and don't even sit down properly to eat and only eat junk food, you will never learn to appreciate a good freshly cooked meal with family or friends.

There is too much distraction in the world with those damn mobile phones. There is an overkill on information, music, everything within our reach 24/7.
When we were young, we didn't have music and internet available 24/7. When on the way to school and in school we looked forward getting home and turning on your radio. But meanwhile in the quiet times we heard new ideas in our heads and we would try that at home when you plugged in your guitar or keyboard or you sat behind your drum set.
We need more quiet times, so our brains have time to create, imagine, invent, think, ponder, dream, etc. We arer too pre-occupied to come up with new ideas, new music styles, new stories.
That is the problem in my humble opinion, there is too much distraction.......
