It’s the Northeast Kingdom, due to it being the NE corner of the state. You said “Northwest Kingdom.”
149
You mispronounced Ashtabula. ASH-ta-BYOO-la.

The best state flags have no letters or words on the design, although Colorado and Ohio are noteworthy exceptions. The really good flags have a fairly simplistic design that can be seen at a distance with the flag flying in the wind. The worst flags have the state seal on a blue background. IMO, the best State flag is New Mexico and the worst is Nebraska. (My favorite flag, however, is Ohio, but that’s partially because I used to live there. 😁)

It really did not look that bad to me. I liked looking at the trees, which are not the kind you see in the Northeast.
31
Good video. I would have thought New York as having the highest percentage of immigrants, but it makes sense for it to be California. Mappy should use his magical skills to make you a better singer. 😎
24
Asheville looks pretty nice, except for what looked like graffiti in the middle of the video. I’ve been there once and liked the area. What you described as “rural” around 14:00 or so sure didn’t look rural to me.
21
My favorite Blazing Saddles scene around 10:50... “How about some more beans, Mr. Taggert!” “I’d say you had enough!”
19
At 5:16, you mispronounced “Tolland”. It’s pronounced \TAH-land\. Connecticut has eight counties, but no county government or county seats.
13
The Hmong are from Southeast Asia. Not Southwest.
12
Finland is also not a Scandinavian country.
12
At 11:36 : You misplaced Birmingham inside of Mississippi.
12
I agree with Mappy’s assessment of the strawberry flag from Arkansas: keep it simple. The other county flags were mediocre at best with their county seals on the design.
12
Ketchikan, Alaska. If you move there, I hope you like rain! The city averages over 150” of rain a year, about four times that of Seattle.
9
🎵There’s no place like Nome for the holidays...
9
He also drove past a stop sign at 11:45.
7
I live in Connecticut and don’t know anyone that fits that stereotype! 🤣
6
OKC would not be my first choice for a place to live, but this didn’t look bad at all.
6
Also Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Idaho, Oregon, and Alaska. (I did not look at a map!)
5
Why bother watching the video, then?
4
Alaska used to have four time zones; now they have only two. (Unofficially, Hyderabad, AK is on Pacific Time, but the official time zone boundary is at the Canadian border.
4
Parts of the music reminded me more of Cosmos. 🌌 Michigan is one of my favorite states; your video does it justice. 👍
3
@adellacroce - 😆
3
Jack Thomas - “Waah, waah, waah!” 🍼
3
I think that should be Maine’s official state motto! 😁
3
Definitely too much for my bank account. Still a nice view of my home state. 🙂
3
octavio moncada - #1 on that list is Michigan. 😏
3
fob1xxl - That is false. Alaska is definitely a Republican state; they are one of the reddest states in the country. New Hampshire and Virginia are at best a mixture of liberal and conservative. If NH didn’t go for Bush in 2000, Al Gore would have been President.
3
I’m pretty sure the highest Chinese population would be on the west coast. I don’t know where you get your (mis)information from, but please enlighten us.
3
I think Mappy should use his magical powers to make Donald Trump disappear.
3
Liberal does not mean Democrat. The South has always been politically quite conservative, but was also staunchly Democrat until at least the 1960s.
3
The anagram for Danville is “evil land.”
3
About four times rainier than Portland, ME. Definitely bring an umbrella. ☔️
2
KawaiiRudraChan OwO - Which county? There are probably about 100 counties or so in that state.
2
I’m glad one person got it.! Hell is northwest of Ann Arbor. I’ve been to Hell (and back.) It is definitely one of my favorite place names. And, I think it’s a pretty nice place, so all of the places in Nick Johnson’s video are arguably worse.
2
Tommy Truth - no, #1 is definitely Michigan.
2
I think Connecticut’s state pastime is ignoring speed limits; it is obviously a time-honored tradition there. 😏
2
Fort Wayne is in Northeast Indiana.
2
Nick did a similar video about a year ago and the US came in #1 on that one too, so I’m not exactly surprised.
2
Alex Holden - Too much snow. ❄️☃️❄️
2
Perhaps Danville has the second-highest mill rate. I doubt that a city whose average home value is $65,000 is collecting very much on property taxes.
2
earlando salazar - A small part of Michigan’s UP along the Wisconsin border is on Central Time. And the westernmost counties of Nebraska are on Mountain Time. I still haven’t looked at a map, but I’m very sure I’m right on both counts.
2
earlando salazar - Just three or four counties in the UP, along the Wisconsin border. My original list does have one mistake though. Oklahoma is entirely on Central Time, (although a town in the panhandle unofficially uses Mountain Time.) Kansas has a few counties on Mountain Time.
2
I’ve been to Vermont many times. Maybe you’re a hoax!
2
I love Vermont, but their flag does not appeal to me. If Wyoming just removed the seal from their flag, it would be one of the best ones.
2
Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Sikkim, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir. 😎

I think the.USA is one of the best countries but it’s not the best country. We have the potential to become the best country on Earth if we resolved for that as a national goal rather than to get into stupid arguments about political affiliation.
1
Yes, but are they the kind of place to raise your kids?
1
KawaiiRudraChan OwO - To answer my own question, Alexander County (the southernmost of Illinois’ 102 counties) had a population drop of 26% from 2010 through 2018. It only had 8,238 people in 2010; that fell to 6,060 people in 2018.
1
Ashley Burton - Yes, I looked all that up, and posted my findings somewhere in this thread.
1
Grant Rodriguez - You left out Rhode Island. Providence has a metro population of over one million.
