  1. ​ @warsthemarvel8608  In the 1984 movie Matt wasn't a target. It was a nuisance. T-800 tried to elliminate him straight, when it failed, because Matt dodged the deadly punch, it decided not to lose any time on him and was simply brushing him off like an annoying fly. Brushing Matt off still killed him. Its target was Ginger, whom he had taken for Sarah. And it killed Ginger right away. Personally it's not that the T-800 had thrown Connor, which made me cringe. Let's be honest IRL this throw would have turned a human being's internal organs into a purée, shattered bones of whatever limb the human was grabbed by and would have definitely clocked this human unconscious. It's grabbing its primary target by the throat and holding him feet dangling over the floor. A T-800 who punched a hole through a punk and killed an another one instantly by throwing him against a fence. T-2, same story. T-800 wasn't able to destroy T-1000, it tried to hold him back while John was escaping. While T-1000, knowing that destroying T-800 would take a very long time, tried to simply get rid of him ASAP and keep on pursuing its primary target.

A throw by a metallic robot, where you fly 30 feet and hit a metallic wall will result first in you passing out of a brain concussion. Second, his lungs, kidneys, liver will receive such a blow that they will be smashed.

  5. Everything in this scene is perfect: the music which makes you sense what it is, a war where 3 billion of people died. Human soldiers who got badly beaten despite outnumbering machines. John Connor who is in the HQ and not on the frontline. John Connor who looks like a person who SAW the war where 3 billion of people died. It's credible.

  6.  @axelnilsson5124  I'm actually more a T-1 fan, than a T-2 fan, but I dislike movies after T-2 not because they weren't as good. Alien-3 wasn't as good as Aliens, I still like it. I hate other Terminator movies because of poorly written plots and because they make no less sense than John Connor being on the front line and screaming "Go-Go" to flying helicopters.

  8.  @M0butu  When he is scanning for John Connor, it is written "The Primary Target", sir. There is no logic in it. It's just a poorly written scenario. In T-1 (1984) the T-800 comes, asks: "Are you Sarah Connor?" And after having obtained a positive confirmation, immediately kills its target.

  10.  @KYoung-kj7hr  Don't forget the cultural element of the time. Arnold is speaking with a heavy German (Austrian) accent, and back in time the WW2 wasn't very far away. He does give that German Panzer vibes.

No waves of walking skeletons with plasma rifles, which is pointless. Better to make a flat all terrain robot, which has eyes in front and behind and multiple cannons. T-600, 700, 800 were made to PASS as humans and kill humans when it's too late. And one single T-800 killed the entire bunker full of soldiers. Not because it was invinsible, but because it obviously shot better, more precisely and overall fought far better than a human soldier. And THAT was realistic.

No waves of walking skeletons. Basically rats who infiltrate and reveal themselves when it's too late. And one single T-800 kills the entire bunker, full of soldiers. Not because it's invincible, but because it's a far better fighter. Its reaction is better, its precision is better, it is stronger, faster. In 1984 movie it felt like it was a fox in a chicken coop.

  18. If I were a screen writter, I would have made a Terminator-3. It would have been about the Future War prequel to T-1. It would have been dark, gloomy and scary to give watchers PTSD. And this scene would have been included. With this one single T-800 wiping out the entire bunker, full of soldiers, who weren't able to stop it, it shooting surgically precisely, being able to perfectly use obstacles to avoid being destroyed and Reese, managing to crawl away. And also getting into the control center, imitating a bunker leader's voice, making more units to fall into a trap. I would have shown rotten toothed, riddled with diseases humans, dressed in rags, eating rats, living misery (no cool fashionable haircuts, no sexy make up, no piercing, no fancy tattoos, no smartphones, because the War started in 1997) outnumbering machines heavily, but machines being infinitely better fighters. I would have shown how much lives it takes to obtain even one small victory. I would have shown human slaves, loading piles of bodies of killed resistance soldiers and putting them into Skynet incinerators to extract energy. There will be no waves of "skeleton-type" T-800 on the battlefield. Only inhuman looking, perfectly adapted for fighting, hunter-killers : different robo-tanks (with sensors-« eyes » not only in front but also on their backs), HK-drones, suicide-drones. The only purpose of designing and production of T-600,700,800 will be to be combat infiltrators. And nothing more. There will be no TX, no Rev-9, and other BS terminators. T-800 will be the newest. T-1000 will be the only one, very recently finalized, inactive prototype, activated only in the brink of a defeat of the Skynet as a last ditch effort to change the past. And all this Time-Machine being finished hastily, litterally hours before the defeat, having barely enough time to send two terminators before humans would have retaken it, sending Reese and previously captured one single unique T-800, kept for a very special occasion. Sending them almost in the midst of a fight, with the Time Machine being irrepairably damaged in the fight. I would have gone to the basics of Terminator (1984) I would have made Skynet appear an absolutely cold, emotionless, soulless, rationally thinking net of military computers, which somehow just bugged and it made them defend themselves instead of defending their creators, using their tech capabilities to learn and become even more efficient and smart. No Helena Bonham Carter evilishly screaming antopomorphical BS "Skynet". To boil it down, Skynet IS NOT a life-form. It is just an AI and nothing more.

I'm saying this and cringing right now. Seemed like Salvation had a decent original scenario, till someone chipped in and started tweeking things left and right. That's usually how good scenarios get butchered.

  20. What distinguises the 2 first T-movies from the rest, is a deep sense of purpose. Something very tragic and very serious is happening. The characters are CRUSHED by knowledge of the future and the readiness to die. There are very occasional comic reliefs only for the heroes not to lose their mind. The sequels feel like a bunch of actors had just gotten dressed and said: "OK, put a good show!" You are wondering if they are even aware what is this all about. P.S. 29 of August is my birthday.

Go!" to helicopters, flying over his shoulders just because it looked cool for an early teenager, this overly theatrical speech. Just CRINGE. This whole film was cringe. The only good things were visual effects. Here yes. Great.

Он какой-то там верховный биг-тайм генерал, а сам идет в бой на броневике, как Ленин, вместо того, чтобы в бункере сидеть и командовать, под четверослойной защитой армии, ПВО, противоракет и дивизии телохранителей. Бой только начался, а Скайнет уже терминатора отправляет в прошлое. ОДНОГО ТЕРМИНАТОРА, КАРЛ! А че не пачку, если их там так много?! В первом (нормальном, человеческом) Терминаторе, Кайл объяснял, что компьютеры отправили в прошлое терминатора чуть ли на последних секундах до поражения, и чуть ли не как бы последнего, потому что других больше не осталось, Скайнет разгромили. А тут, блин, наверное в скайнет центральный процессор это Советская Электроника 1976 года, и та, думаю, лучше бы справилась, чем этот умственно-отсталый скайнет из сиквелов. Первый Терминатор-1984 это единственный вот так по-хорошему отличный терминатор. Второй выехал больше на общем настроении от первого, на спецэффектах, на серьезности и масштабе, на эпичности, как Джим Кэмерон умеет делать, но сюжет там тоже из пальца высосан- в общем-то копия по шаблону первого. Остальное это реальный шлак.

  26. They are getting beaten up badly here. But they outnumber machines heavily and will to live makes them VERY creative. Basically like Vietnamese or Afghan mujahideen who defeated bigger and stronger armies by their creativity, power of will, and simply the fact that they had nowhere to retreat.

  41. It's an entertaining movie. It's in no way great, neither even good. It's just that compared to the later trash, such as "Genisys" or "Dark Fate", even this film looks decent. But T-800 who grabs his primary target by the neck and just holds him, feet dangling over the floor, what is he, an Italian mafia debt collector or something? Remember The T-1 beginning, when T-800 punched the hole through one punk and than catapulted a second one with such force that it killed him?
