I doubt dogs are that bad. They barely bark, and when they do it's short bursts of sound, which are rather safe. If you worry about health you should worry about the dogs’ health...

I’m not even going to try to explain this to you. I’d recommend watching his other videos. Because everybody who’s read up on this debate won’t have the problems you have, because they are not what the debate is about.

@yansakovich . The problem isn’t the destruction of EVs it’s their production. One of those things you can’t really get away from. And a road needs repaving every couple years. Platforms do not. Road vehicles are inherently taxing on the road surface. Sooner or later those costs start add up. The astonishing cost of building a roadway and then maintaining it will be more expansive than transit. And you can’t seriously suggest the equivalent of loosing your belt as a solution. Obese people aren’t a problem, their health is. You are suggesting what essentially is engineering your way out of a biological problem, which doesn’t fix the problem but rather worsens it.
1
@yansakovich . Great so then cancer is not my concern. Why should I care about others peoples health? (; And nobody is advocating to remove roads entirely, they are necessary for some and for some things. But not to the everyday person and not to the everyday commute. Roads and rail is still less expensive since it's the maintenance of the roads and the size and amount of pavement that's the problem. Maintenance being the bigger problem of the two. It turns out that if you use a road less it needless maintenance. Who knew.

A road and a street. A road in the way it’s made to transport a lot of people to a certain place. But a street in the way that it has driveways and business with direct access to it.

Water and other services would still cost the same.
1
Katy freeway?
1
Those are not for the same purpose…
1
@SonNguyen-mk2wq . Yes but when you say “put speed cameras there instead” you are saying that they would occupy the same space, which they of course never would because they don't serve remotely the same purpose. I get your point, just not the sentence.
1
@SonNguyen-mk2wq . Yeah yes yes, I agreed from the beginning. I just found your sentence weird.
1
How is Canada fascist? Is essentially the same as the US, just a little better.
1
@lostboi3974 . I’m not Canadian buddy. And none of that has anything to do with fascism, or China. So you got any actual relevant words in your brain or is it all fat? Considering the US has the highest obesity rate in the world.
1
Someone who cares about the environment? Maybe… And I hope you realize that the person calling someone else a loser is usually the loser themselves.
1
@POIUYTREWQ62 , I’m not so sure about that.
1
He has said no to that since there is already so much content on that topic.
1
Source?
1
Cars are unnecessary and need to go sooner or later anyway.
1
@joffreypub149 . In Paris there are exceptions for disabilities and special needs. As there will be everywhere else too. And if a person can't walk, they surely have a helper and a wheelchair to get around.
1
@CWorm . Sound like someone who’s never seen a bus.
1
And no “anti car people” have forgotten about people who need cars. It’s just people like you who have an attention span of an ant that don’t listen.
1
He’s not complaining he’s criticizing. Which you know, is how society becomes better.
1
@wanglelife . Yes.
1
Can you just not?...
1
Just like cars… Traffic lights….
1
Rafcion, Expensive and not space efficient.
1
A hotel is also correct.
1
@kekkewezel4615 . Depends on the dialect. British English doesn't pronounce the h in hotel so therefore it should grammatically be “an hotel” but for those of us who are civilized “an hotel” sounds stupid.
1
I suggest watching a free think video on how temperatures can be drastically decreased by planting trees. Which Houston doesn’t have any of, and if part of the reason it’s so hot.
1
You take them yourself to the recycling center. If you don't have a car you ask someone who has one to do it...
1
How about that public transit is one of the most crucial factors behind getting people out of poverty? Public transit will always (if done remotely well) be cheaper than a car so your argument is a plain falsehood.
1
But than again you are one of the very few cases. If the world runs on expecting the unlikeliest thing, and being worried about that we would not be doing anything.
1
@liechty2670 . You really didn’t get the point there…
1
There is also something called a “jacket”…
1
Then take the train to Switzerland…
1
Then Kansas would be the cycling capital of the world...
1
@meow-px6kk , Oh I get it. But people in countries with less biking have a tendency to blame hills for their people not biking. Kansas is a good example of an incredibly flat place that has nowhere near the level of biking that the Netherlands has, they have no excuse. I’m sure flatness is a factor, but it’s far from the only one.
1
No. Sure democrats aren’t particularly left in the global stage. But cities like New York, Boston and such are run by democrats and certainly doing zoning better than say Los Angles, Houston… And I don’t think saying that bad cities are often run by the left is fair. Cities in the US are by default pretty bad and since urban places are often run by democrats… Can’t really make the argument you are making.
1
No. Long term they will have detrimental effects too.
1
Street combined with a road.
1
Depends on what metric you use.
1
Kansas is still not the cycling capital of the world…
1
@dbclass4075 . Of course, but referring to the original comment. If height difference was the biggest factor behind Netherlands bike prominence than Kansas should also be bike infested.
1
@MuppetKing . Sure. But Kansas would still be prime example of how If you don’t invest, nothing is going to happen.
1
But those roads add character to a neighborhood and have the added benefit of lowering speeds.
1
He literally addresses this in the video. Even if you just spend the tax money on infrastructure (which you can’t) it’s not enough.
1
It’s not a perfect model on a sustainable place but with some minor modifications it’s pretty much perfect.
1
Should*
