  9. Been there, done that. I once walked into a BMC parts store in Phoenix, AZ and tried to order tie rod ends for my DKW (car). They said they could not get any so I asked if I could go in the back and look. I walked back to the parts bin in the back of the store and picked the part right up off the shelf and handed it to the clerk who looked very surprised. I put it on my car and it worked well for years since it was the exact same part, just a different part number. BMW instead of DKW both Auto Union.(They made the Lloyd and the Borgward as well.)

  27. A recent news report showed American tanks (they said) "captured" by the Taliban. They were Humvees. I repeat; It's just words. There is no truth to other people being able to use sophisticated equipment without parts and know-how. So if they use it, they have parts and know-how (and luck).
