Once Krim is isolated, Ukraine will then be able to focus even more on the anti-ship weapon campaign, with over a dozen NATO nations who want to see their latest AS missiles and ISR platforms tested, because they face significant seaborne threats from Russia as well. Think Norway, the UK, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, France, Italy, as well as new members Sweden and Finland. Ukraine is in no rush to lose thousands of soldiers assaulting Krim, though they can make inroads with the echelons of fire from HIMARS and M777 coordinated with drone strikes. Anyone left in Krim will be pinched and Russia’s options for supporting them will be severely constrained, unwinnable.

  5. I lived in Russia and truly experienced what felt like traveling back in time to a place and history everyone forgot. It's extremely primitive, with dashes of industrial revolution sprinkled here and there on dark, frozen, isolated and landlocked land mass with almost no connection to the trade routes.

Millions of people who normally don't vote, millions of union workers, and millions of Democrats voted for him. We've never had a situation where a candidate came in and upset the system like that despite all of the media's attempts to derail him.

  11. ​ @historian8214 Finland was part of the Swedish empire for centuries, used as military conscripts by the Swedes against the Russians until the Russian Empire took Finland in 1809. Russia did something weird with Finland and left them alone as a Grand Duchy until Finland declared independence during the Bolshevik revolution in Russia. Finland has been independent ever since that time.

Some of the greatest cities of the ancient world were along the seaports of North Africa until the violators came through and destroyed them, stripped the great buildings and streets of their precious stones, and subjugated the people to demonic forces.

Stalin was a mass-murderer within Russia and Ukraine to the tune of many millions before and after the War. But no single person or group can be blamed for deaths from 1933-1945. You skipped over the Holodomor of the early 1930s and the repression of the Russian Kulaks, which created artificial famines in Russia and Ukraine.

Obama has been working to disarm Ukraine since the 2000s when he was a Senator, denied weapons to Ukraine when he was President. Trump reversed that and crushed the Russian economy with US energy policy. Russian economy doesn't grow unless oil is over $100/bbl. Under Trump, WTI went from $56/bbl down to $22, not counting the $15/bbl at the bottom drop during WuhanFlu.

  19. Finland and Poland ramped up defense in the 1990s, purchasing advanced modern fighters and weapon systems. Finland bought 64 F-18C/Ds with full AIM-120 capability in 1992, then later upgraded them to F/A-18C/D with JASSM, JDAM, and other weapons in the 2010s. Poland bought F-16C/D Block 52s to replace their MiG-29As. Sweden cut a lot of spending because of the "peace dividend", like most other short-sighted European Parliaments.

  20.  @Withnail1969  Russian fighters are suffering unsustainable losses, especially the Su-34. It takes years to build a single Su-34, and even with the production line open, they are not rolling off in numbers to counter the losses. Full-rate production began in 2008, with a projected 70 aircraft by 2015. They have delivered 148 production models, 25 of which have been shot down over or near the border of Ukraine, out of a total of over 30 airframe losses.

Then you have the battle of Khasham in 2018, where Russian forces were annihilated for sport by US Forces, after Russia attacked without provocation. Russia's oil/NG sales couldn't fund growth with 2017-2020 US energy prices.

  23. Canada has been part of team America throughout its 20th Century industrialization. Canada is integrated North-South with the US, not East-West with itself. The problem now is the Canadian government has failed to maintain its own obligations for self-defense, and its NORAD obligations. Did you know the Royal Canadian Air Force barely has half of its required Hornet pilots? Recruitment, training, and retention is abysmal. They're still flying jets that were made in Reagan's first term in office. Trudeau delayed the acquisition of the planned F-35 Fleet for Canada. RCAF had already committed to JSF as a higher-tier partner in the program. There are dozens of Canadian companies manufacturing high-end subsystems and parts for F-35s. Whose bidding was Trudeau doing when he ran on the campaign promise of canceling Canada's commitment to the F-35? Either way, now NORAD's northern flank is exposed. The Russians have resumed strategic bomber penetration profiles and testing of NORAD's defenses. China has openly stated they will be taking territory in the arctic, along with Russia. Trudeau says he admires the Chinese dictatorship where the emperor can just declare a policy and it's immediately implemented.

It's why he stirred up racial division (a key Soviet active measures strategy against the US), and why he was told to select a long-time Soviet mole in the Senate as his VP. It's also why he retained another Soviet asset as SECDEF from the Bush Admin, Robert Gates, who was tasked with killing the ATF/F-22A Raptor before we could go into FRP (Full-Rate Production of 750 aircraft). If Peter discussed any of this, he wouldn't ever be invited to another USG agency again to speak.

When Peter talks about stability, he ignores the fact that Trump negotiated more Middle Eastern peace deals than all US Presidents combined, refused to start any new wars, curb-stomped Putin in Syria while threatening Putin with extreme consequences if he effed around in Ukraine, is the only President who sent weapons to Ukraine prior to 2022, and enacted energy and fiscal policies that made buying a home more accessible for Americans in generations. Biden, Obama, Bush, and Clinton are the opposite of that. Look at energy policy, defense, PPP, the border, finally an America-first trade policy, unemployment, and the WTI under Trump vs any of the other establishment suits. Trump did more for the US than any other President in our lifetimes and the numbers aren't even close.

I’ve seen new US-style highways being built in Korea, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Finland, but the US has an amazing road network that is unparalleled in the world. Budgets for roads and highways come from totally different pots. A lot of it is funded from gas taxes and State taxes.

  40. ​ @farnarkleboy European acquisition of major and minor defense systems has only been increasing inversely to US base withdrawals since 1992. The main European aerospace consortium and manufacturers haven't even kept up with the latest generation of fighters outside of the US-funded JSF/F-35. Russia and China have their own 5th Gen fighter programs in production, whereas the multinational European projects only have some digital images and a wooden mock-up in the UK. Good thing the US has already built 1000 F-35s and that 500 are scheduled to be stationed in NATO by 2030.

He's a gaffe machine (57 States), and says "um" all the time. He's a terrible orator and he sucks at public speaking and always has. Worst of all, he seethes with hatred for the US and did everything in his power to agitate and instigate division, rather than heal. Same Soviet front group that got Biden into the Senate helped Obama as well. It's the only thing that connects them and is why Biden was his VP. Council for a Livable World.

  50.  @Sp0tthed0gt  A lot of the guys with more training were killed from 2022-2023. An interesting thing I haven't seen any of the even better channels discuss is the progressive reduction in conscript service from Tsarist times to the present. Conscripts in the Tsarist times were for life in the 1700s, then reduced to 22yrs for Infantry, 15 years for technical troops. It was later reduced to 6 years with 2 years of home leave, but could be recalled. In the 1800s, it was bumped back up to 22yrs after they lost the Crimean War, then later dropped. During the Soviet times, army conscription dropped, as did navy, with the Navy always being 1yr more than the army. This continued to drop through the end, and Putin dropped mandatory conscription years even lower so that almost all institutional knowledge has eroded.
