  18. depends, because currently we are a very huge species and that means changes will take a LONG time to be apparent, but one small change wont be much i think that if we decide to reclassify it will happen through the process of gene editing and cyber enhancements, at first it will just be speculations on reclassifying, then more people will be talking about it, and then some people will say its time and politics get involved and then eventually we will decide that the change is enough to justify changing from "homo sapien"

  24. no, but we could speed up the process like with dogs, they evolved differently than modern wolves because they were isolated from them over time but it was speed up a lot through artificial selection, we would consciously chose to let the strong, healthy and cooperative ones to breed and yes it did still take some time to domesticate them but then we get to the modern useless unhealthy dogs we have a lot of dog breeds that are not very useful, Chihuahuas, bulldogs, bloodhounds and so on we bred them over a shorter time span which involved a lot of inbreeding which severely affected them but it was a lot of change over not so long of a time

  33. yes, well, its more like, if you have a black and asian parent you are a mix, but they are both human identifying neandethals as being a different species was before we knew we bred with them the definition of a species is pretty weak becasue its a man made concept but they were technically just an ethnic group but like, multitudes more different from us that the differences that exist between modern ethnic groups

  49. looooots and looots of data, hypothesis building and then rigorously trying to prove those hypotheses wrong until you end up with a couple dozen that you cant disprove, and then you try to form an overarching theory that explains all of the hypotheses and then you test that as well and if eventually when you you find a mistake you fix it this goes on forever, sometimes theories only need small fixing, every once in a while, like Einsteins theories which are more or less correct just not 100% perfect, and sometimes theories can go out the window but this is muuuuuch less common
