Stefan looks like he is due to retire soon so it shouldn't worry him. But if programmers rely on doing manually tasks that can be easily automated then they are definitely getting paid too much. Life should always be made easier, not more difficult to financially privilege a small number of people.

Hope you aren't ripping them off

Even better yet, learn how to automate writing code with AI. Save everyone the pain and hassle of learning how to do the same thing 15 different ways :-)
1
Yeah... it's tough for people who aren't 'hooked up'. But then I guess society always needs a lot of dropouts, losers etc so that a tiny minority can get gratuitously overpaid.

@silicondigital1542 It's all about who you know / blow

Will JavaScript frameworks replace PHP?

Don’t need your stinking money anyhow!

You have to have super skills in dealing with bullsh!t, frustration and dealing with hopelessness
1
That's true. 75% of Americans still had jobs even when others were starving to death. Natural selection, baby - survival of the fittest!

Yes. If you're 40 or older, you just look silly trying to get into all the latest fads. It's a young person's industry.

$200 an hour LOL and we wonder why everything is expensive nowadays
1
@smithlock6261 it's ridiculous money, everyone is so greedy nowadays and that is why everything is so much more expensive
1
@Matt-m3y-r4u You don't appear to realize that developers charging excessive fees are part of the gouging and greed component of the mix. It's just too easy to make the code difficult to understand for others and thereby make yourself 'essential'

Offers, or solicitations to submit a CV from recruiters?

The real problem isn't automation (and making work in general easier), but how to solve the distribution of wealth when people aren't able to earn money any more. (Or they are earning less.) There's nothing worse than making life difficult for the sake of creating highly-paid jobs.

So is PHP. Use Composer or not? Autoload classes or not? If do, what autoloading convention (there are dozens, hundreds, MILLIONS)? Which convoluted framework to base on? Which elaborate system of OOP to use? Declare strict types or no? All of this nonsense for a website ROFL
1
The future will be low-code, AI and automation. The endless proliferation of complexity and new languages will end, and programmers will become deskilled.

@LionhartM 'In summary, PHP is a capable language for web development, but the suitability of PHP for a specific web application depends on the project's requirements and goals. For many web applications, PHP is a strong and practical choice. However, for more specialized or resource-intensive applications, you might explore other languages or technologies that better align with your needs.'

@god_bika Listen to yourself, brother. A space ship? You're creating websites, right? Just to be clear and make sure we're on the same page here. Can you explain to me why making websites needs to be made even more ostentatiously and decadently complicated than it already is? You're not writing code to put a man on the moon.
1
No, you need to learn 'the latest thing' - which includes doing the same thing in at least 12 different ways, depending on what's currently in fashion / what your company prefers at any given time.
1
@rl6382 No.

@rl6382 No way

We're all doomed.
