@christopherfisher128 you shouldn’t be. The scientific literature in criminology is weird: there are two kinds and they have very little connection with each other. One uses words and talks again and again about how punishment doesn’t work and how criminals can be rehabilitated and how we should treat excons like upstanding citizens who have paid their debt to society. The other uses numbers and is empirically based. It is full of moderately advanced statistical methods. It proves again and again that criminals are hard to rehabilitate, that punishment doesn’t work well BUT IT IS THE BEST METHOD OF REHABILITION WE HAVE(!) and that it is prudent to give excons a wide berth, etc. Things like community service work great with people who aren’t really cut out for the criminal life in the first place. It doesn’t work with real criminals. Adherents of the former tend to be on the far left, of course. I can read the numbers and do the math. So, no, I’m definitely not a guy who believes much in second chances.

@christopherfisher128 no, I didn’t.

Wales played really dirty against Denmark, btw.

@kingsting12 a similar thing happened in the US when the schools were desegregated. There’s a reason why Americans pay so much to live in districts with “good schools”. For some strange reason, they never taught us that in school here in Denmark. They just talked about racism and Martin Luther King.

Chernobyl was an exceptionally stupid design. It has nothing to with current power plants outside of Russia (which still has a few of that type) or with anything that anybody wants to build now. It’s like saying chemistry is evil because of the Union Carbide disaster in Bhopal. No, non-idiotic nuclear power does NOT go very wrong when it goes wrong. The bad things that happened in Fukushima were the earthquake, the tsunami, and the huge panic evacuation. There wasn’t much of a problem with the nuclear power plant.

He had Socialist sympathies and supported the Jewish conquest of Palestine. Great physicist, poor ethics.

@filmandfirearms the taxes didn’t even pay for the cost of protecting the trade the tax cheaters got rich off. The Royal Navy had to protect merchant ships against attacks from the French — whom the American traitors immediately allied themselves with. What you quoted was just a nice sounding slogan to cover what they were really doing.
1
@G_Flash84625 two. One of them was known as a terrorist breeding mosque (which is likely why it was chosen as a target) but I think that’s pretty hard to google for now.

Fortran is ancient but it still has a niche in number crunching, especially physics and computational chemistry. It is very useful if you are going to work in those fields. It’s not very useful for much else.

And they are also running out of tanks, personnel carriers, self-propelled guns, and planes of all sorts. They are even running out of ball bearings! Russian ammo depots also exhibit steadily lower shelf lives, as do railway bridges, and oil refineries. Russia’s resources are actually quite limited now!

Berlin had unusually low rents a few years ago. When did it become expensive?
1
We don’t actually know that.
1
Early 30’s.
1
No, it started long before that. Palme was one the crooks who did it.
1
Just show it a picture of a chicken.
1
Yes, this time it won’t make the colonized lands better. And this time, we are heading for a partial population replacement not a small sprinkling of new people.
1
Not a whole lot of “Judeo” about those roots — apart from the parts of Poland that used to be under Russia’s thumb. The Poles liked it so much that essentially none of their Jews survived. Are you American, by any chance?
1
That’s a good look on Mr. Harry, there. Took him long enough to stop looking like a Russian scarecrow/low ranking mobster :)
1
@James_36 Russia’s culture sucks. Passivity, alcoholism, and a belief in “the good czar” is not getting culture right.
1
@alanevans3561 we agree completely on the social justice crap!
1
He was imprisoned not for being against Apartheid but for… literally being a terrorist.

So do the kids who can’t vote. And so do those who voted for something else.

20% is a super high number relative to the proportion of intelligent young people.

It was pretty bad already in 2013.

Explains the heavy gravitational hair migration.

You do know that is usually done just by swallowing a pill? (RU-486)

I don’t think you actually understood Vonnegut.

Fined? Labour camp for years and years.

They are judges and they are just as unelected as most judges in democracies.

@zxyatiywariii8 Google translate is often better than human translators.

@stillcantbesilencedevennow he killed people who hadn’t done anything wrong yet.

Does Jack Churchill have any living descendants? Bagpiping skills are a bonus for the job.

The Moors still permanently changed Spain’s genetics for the worse.

Your great grandfather was evil and caused great harm.

The whites in South Africa commit homicides at a similar rate as the white Englishmen.

Ghostwriters + tape recorders.

@tgheretford no.

Transsubstantiation cannot be done with chemistry alone. But you are right that rare earth metals aren’t rare.

What I don't understand is why they choose the UK -- because their chances are much better in Sweden!

Russia has a bigger Muslim problem than most of Europe… it is also growing faster. What Russia shows you on RT is not real, you know.
1
Yes, if you are referring to BSW. No, if you thought of the AfD.

Shit, that drag queen is transfit!

Attacking Germany in 1914? The Boer Wars?
1
@squishyhunter1744 WW1 as well. What France and Russia did was considered equivalent to a declaration of war at the time in international law and fully entitled Germany and Austria to defend themselves — including on French and Russian soil. Belgium was a de facto vassal of France. Honouring the protection treaty with Belgium didn’t help Belgium in the slightest, since it meant practically all the fighting on the Western front ended up happening in Belgium instead of in France. It also seriously prolonged and escalated what would otherwise have been a very short war (basically a repeat of 1870 that France also started).
1
Same as transphobia.

Parsees punch even more above their weight than ashkenazi Jews, so you probably have met one. You have most definitely heard of several.

@alberto5770 vetted, not vetoed.

He’s got two Commonwealth citizenships + he is a Fellow of the Royal Society.

A tribe of Africans were having a lot of trouble with whites (with weapons) moving in. A young girl had a vision that told her they should just kill all their cattle — their own cattle, not the white people’s cattle. Somehow they all thought that was a good idea and they did kill all their cattle. Then most of them starved to death. This really happened.

And it is only 12 billion with very creative accounting: old stuff gets sent to Ukraine as new stuff is bought for domestic use… and the original cost of the old stuff or the cost of the new stuff is used as the value of the help to Ukraine.
