  7.  @liammcgirr1778  What I'm trying to say is we shouldn't interfere with nature. Things have been like this long before humans first existed, so why should it be any different, now? Also, if we kept helping animals that are sick/injured (excluding those that were injured/made sick be humans), then we'd both be causing a lot of predators to starve, and also causing a lot of damage to the ecosystem by enabling the animals to overpopulate.

I'm referring to all your comments saying you want predators to be killed off. The fact you say that literally means you WANT the ecosystem to be destroyed.

  17.  @PK-vv6ci  We shouldn't interfere with nature, though. Interfering can sometimes cause more harm than good. For example, if they killed that impala then, they hyenas could start to associate humans with food, which will "encourage" them to go after people as a source of food. This can then lead to the animal being shot. Alternatively, the sound of the gunshot could frighten the hyenas, and make them not want to come to the carcass again.

  19. Umm, dude. This is literally nature, they have no control over what the animals do. I highly doubt people who work at the reserves would leave the antelopes to be eaten by the carnivores just so that the guests remain entertained. Not only would that be extremely unethical, but it would also defeat the whole point of reserves in the first place.

  22. WRONG. Hyenas are very good hunters. In fact, they kill between 50-95% of their own prey. Also, lone hyenas have been seen taking down adult wildebeest. And it is more common for lions to steal from hyenas than it is for hyenas to steal from lions. 'Spotted hyenas are skilled and powerful hunters that can kill a wide variety of prey. In the Ngorongoro Crater, their preferred prey are wildebeests and buffalo calves, medium-sized herbivores weighing between 50 and 180 kg. Experienced hyenas can take down prey as large as adult zebras on their own but they usually hunt wildebeests, zebras and buffaloes in groups of 2 to 30.' 'Spotted hyena have traditionally been thought of as scavengers, and although it is true that they will opportunistically scavenge, according to Smith (2010), they actually kill 60-95% of their food!'   46. I agree, that does seem sad. Obviously, we can't blame the predators for following their natural instincts, but still: the fact that rhinos are endangered, and this one had to be put down is upsetting.
