Hyenas can't kill their prey first, they don't have the adaptations to do so.
5
Hyenas have to eat, as well, you know?
5
Why do you wish for the African ecosystem to be destroyed?
5
"Without human intervention, the lions will eventually be wiped out by the hyenas" If that was the case, then lions would have gone extinct thousands of years ago.
5
It's called "nature photography"
5
Pretty sure predators don't eat just for our entertainment. Last time I checked, they did that to survive.
4
You have unsubscribed because a nature channel was showing nature?
4
And, let's be honets: I think MOST animals are afraid of male lions.
4
@MisterRandom2 Yeah. Eating something that’s still alive is called “hunting”. Eating something when it’s dead: scavenging Eating something when it’s alive: hunting
4
1: that's two words 2: they aren't allowed to interfere.
4
And then leave the poor hyena to starve? That would be straight-up animal cruelty.
4
Either you're over-exaggerating (in other words, you don't actually want them extinct, and just don't like them), OR you hate nature and want the African ecosystem destroyed. Which one of those two is it?
4
Because they... eat food in order to survive?
4
@mark97213 I am, actually. I know of a female hyena in Sabi Sands that was attacked by a lion back on 2018, and she's still alive. And there are also hyenas that have survived with injured/missing limbs.
4
Three words: The Lion King
4
Spotted hyena around 50-95% of their prey, and lions steal from hyenas more often than hyenas steal from lions. Who are the "scavenger bullies", again? Oh yes: lions.
4
@faraz-i3x Yeah. The hyenas can't exactly go to the grocery store, now.
4
@donniev8181 Science isn't religion? What are the people studying evolution called? Oh yes: scientists. You know something doesn't have to be seen to be true, right?
4
It's called nature. Deal with it. I see no animal cruelty here, just people observing animals in their natural habitat.
4
And deprived the hyena of a meal?
4
@AndreasNV What about it?
4
@iskaykabeya609 Here's one thing that isn't a "lie": the fact hyenas are more closely related to cats than they are to dogs. Also, the word you were looking for is 'speculation, and not 'lies'.
4
@roiq5263 Guessing you like hyenas?
4
Hate to break it to you, but hyenas are not humans.
4
Why do people still believe the lie that hyenas are only scavengers, anyway?
4
They aren't allowed to interfere. Nature must take its course.
4
@ashokankala802 They don't have the adaptations to kill first. Also, they need quickly before other predators come to try and steal their prey.
4
@ashokankala802 Spotted hyenas hunt more than they scavenge hunting between 50-95% of their own prey. And it is more common for lions to steal from them than the other way around.
4
This is the wild
4
No such thing as "evil" in nature. You shouldn't put human Morals onto animals. There is nothing "evil" about trying to survive.
4
Spotted hyenas hunt between 50-95% of their own prey. Lions steal more from hyenas than vice-versa.
4
1: please don't apply human morals onto other animals. Nature doesn't have morals like we do. 2: What's wrong with recording nature? Have you never heard of these things called "safaris", before? Or "wildlife photography"?
4
Filming nature isn't "sick".
4
johncena undertaker Tell me you hate nature without telling me you hate nature.
4
Hyenas are more hunters than scavengers, as they hunt around 50-95% of their own prey. Also: it is more common for lions to steal from hyenas than it is for hyenas to steal from lions. And there is literally no predator on Earth that WON'T "steal" food from another predator if given the chance. No animal would pass up a free meal.
4
@bradfordlee7384 Spotted hyenas hunt around 50-95% of their own prey. And it is more common for lions to steal from hyenas than it is for hyenas to steal from lions. Both those facts have been proven by over 20 years of research both in the Massai Mara as well as the Ngorongoro Crater. Also: there are PLENTY of videos on YouTube of hyenas hunting their own prey. Not to mention the fact that literally ALL predators will steal from other predators.
4
@stevanusw The safari guides aren't allowed to interfere. Besides, this would be happening regardless of whether or not the guide was there.
4
@ututheavenger I'm pretty sure it's called a "joke".
4
@genXdoom72 Because Nghwazi has been positively ID'd as a male.
4
Please can you get this useful thing called a dictionary?
4
More hunters than thieves. Also: name me a predator that won't steal from another predator. I can tell you right now that it is impossible to name one.
4
It's nature.
4
Not necessarily. I know of one hyena in Sabi Sands that was attacked by a male lion, and she's still doing well (she's currently the matriarch of her clan, in fact).
4
Can I kindly ask WHY you want the ecosystem destroyed?
4
@leveganist Still nothing wrong happening in this video.
4
Why, though?
4
Let me guess why: The Lion King?
4
You spelt "humans" wrong.
3
So, hunting between 50-95% of your own prey is "lazy", now?
3
You hate them because they aren't adapted to killing their prey first? Not their fault.
