As for the coup claim, Trump and his cronies orchestrated and executed a conspiracy to put in fake electoral college votes. A clear attempt to illegally overthrow the election. A coup in other words. There is a reason he has been charged with that, and not the events of Jan 6th (which he probably hoped for but has plausible deniability for).

  14. Lots of countries have de facto two party systems but without these problems. I guess it is down to the states, but also to the fact that local officials are much more open about using their positions to skew the democratic process their own way. It is unfeasible in Europe that the loser in the popular vote could actually win the election. But that's what happened in 2016.
