  8. Absolutely. TikTok is designed for children, it's so simple that even a 3 year old could use it and get addicted to content early. YouTube just copying almost everything about them is a big L, I see the appeal, but I want a scoll bar. I'm an adult, I want more control over the content I watch, more than just jod or shake your head and they'll do the rest.

From the way other psychologists have reviewed his self help books, he didn't seem to use much real psycho at all. The other guy put it the most succinctly, everything good in there isn't new. All of the good advice in there could have been written by you or I after a few hours on the internet, no doctorate in psychology necessary.

  13.  @sword_of_damocle5  Yeah he never made much of himself on his own merit, but he sure git money and fane once he started grifting conservatives. Maybe that's why he's a bit of a mess. He has money and fame but not the respect of his peers. He has followers but mostly disenfranchised young men who didn't know that cleaning your room was part of being an adult. It's pretty sad. I'll have an apple cider in honor of him tomorrow.

I think his goal in life was to make money by serving the interests of those with the most money and he wasn't interested in an economy that works for everyone. No I haven't read any of his papers. Do you think that if I read his papers I would stop believing we should tax the rich to eliminate homelessness and poverty and start believing in trickle down economics?

I don't like Hassan and definitely not Vaush, I don't think they add much value to leftism, I don't even consider Vaush a leftist, just a narcissist who uses leftist ideology to try and win debates. I would agree that they are essentially grifters, like Ben Shapiro and the like, although far less harmful. I'm just curious to see if you personally think the more educational leftist video essayists are also grifters or if you think they provide value. I think they do, I'd be interested to hear an argument for why they don't, if that's something you believe. I'm just gathering information and opinions, I'm not interested in arguing anything today.

  40. The writing was not the problem with those shows, it's the focus testing and executive meddling, the writers did their best to accommodate the bad decisions their bosses made. You can't blame the failure of a production that big on the writers, they had almost no power over the stories and were just doing what they were told.

  47. Bro, context matters. If the reasoning and argument being made is convincing then it is accepted, it has nothing to do with a creator being liberal or not. No need to project a lack of self awareness when you are missing this crucial point. Claiming something is bad because woke is pretty much never a valid or well made argument, that's why people don't accept it. If someone makes the claim that something is bad Because the characters are soulless and the writing is lackluster then that is usually accepted, regardless of the political alignment of the person who made the argument.

  48. You really don't understand how little power writers have over the writing and quality of a show when they work for a company like Disney. The biggest difference in quality between productions is almost always dependent on how much control the writers and directors were given.
