A group of people in a society who share particular qualities or ways of behaving which that society associates with being male, female, or another identity: I think all genders are able to care for children equally. gender stereotype: Those old films are full of racial and gender stereotypes. gender bias: Their goal is to eliminate gender bias in access to sports for children. Germany's top court has ruled that parliament must legally recognize a third gender. gender equality: Our lab is committed to gender equality in the sciences and promotes men and women to senior positions in equal numbers. "The gender that you identify with isn't always the same as your biological sex," he explained. There can be a lot of physical variation within one gender as well as between genders. the condition of being a member of a group of people in a society who share particular qualities or ways of behaving which that society associates with being male, female, or another identity: Discrimination on the basis of race, gender, age or disability is not allowed. Example; She felt that her destiny had been shaped by her gender. The sample of people questioned was drawn from the university's student register and grouped by age and gender. I could not fill out the form as I am non-binary and my gender was not listed among the options given

@GlasPthalocyanine I agree. Do you want to back up and answer my question so we can move on?
3
@nickthepostpunk5766 No I wouldn't agree with any of that at all. Really fascinating to watch that comment evolve as you edited it. Did you know that "Cisgender" is preferred by trans people and their allies to terms like "biological", "genetic", or "real" male or female?
3
@nickthepostpunk5766 you certainly did write a lot. I think I disagree with all the points you made. What does it say about someone who repeatedly ignores most of what someone says and doesn't directly acknowledge the claims being repeated and keeps changing the subject to move away from what the person they are talking to wants to talk about?
3
@nickthepostpunk5766 What does it say about someone who repeatedly ignores most of what someone says and doesn't directly acknowledge the claims being repeated and keeps changing the subject to move away from what the person they are talking to wants to talk about. Now can we talk about the other claims I made which you have ignored like the anti trans bias of the people writing the report and the harmful recommendations supported by bad science?
3
@benjaminfranklin8412 a human right? No. I think everyone should be able to play sports, including trans women, who are women. We can organise sports through less antiquated than gender anyway.
3
@nickthepostpunk5766 I'm assuming you haven't read; 'critically appraising the cass review: methodological faults and unsupported claims' published on OSF. You should go read it.
3
@markrussell3428 how do you explain 99% of adults who transition being happy with their life and it being an improvement over their life pretransition? Most trans people are not growing up to realise that they've been lied to, because they haven't been lied to, you just wish it was so.
3
@ambientjohnny Yes, many terfs are anti abortion. It's a well established fact. I know that sounds contradictory to you but that's because terfs aren't actually feminists and their allies are far right groups that are anti abortion.
3
@sarahsue42 sexuality and gender are a spectrum, there are more than what you listed
3
Gender is a spectrum not a binary, that is a scientific fact. Your assertion that there are only two is unsupported by science and reality. Completely unsupported by history as well.
3
@barryledgister4496 the scientific term is cisgender women, not biological women. We've been using the terms cisgender and transgender for decades now.
3
@im-radio thanks 😀
3
Your belief they have an unfair competitive advantage is completely unfounded
3
@jollygoode4153 so you're ignoring all the evidence that has debunked it for being a faulty study with insufficient data?
3
What do you mean? This is a politics podcast
3
You should just accept who she really is.
3
@ribbrascal Is she the one who changed your mind about trans people?
3
@littlecatfeet9064 She has backpedalled since the review came out.
3
Always has been. Look at history.
3
@av_oid would you like me to recommend a video that goes in depth into the criticisms from the scientific and academic community as well as goes into the biases of Cass and the other people involved in writing it?
3
@av_oid This gives a good overview on how the Cass report has been completely shredded by the scientific and academic community and isn't being taken seriously by anyone who knows how to read a paper like this and discern a good one from a bad one. It wouldn't even be accepted if it was submitted as an undergraduate paper. https://youtu.be/EpPoxs70LpM?si=Xf7sOFONitVbL-ep
3
@janebennetto5655 Not an argument. It was debunked, it was a bad study in the first place. They didn't consult a single trans person or gender specialist. You only say it's true because it supports your anti trans beliefs, you probably didn't even read it and understand it. Probably have never read an actual study in your life.
2
@KatalepticBoots would you like me to recommend a video that goes in depth into the criticisms from the scientific and academic community as well as goes into the biases of Cass and the other people involved in writing it?
2
@robertmarshall2502 would you like me to recommend a video that goes in depth into the criticisms from the scientific and academic community as well as goes into the biases of Cass and the other people involved in writing it?
2
@robertmarshall2502 have you read any of the critiques of it?
2
What is he missing?
2
So you think that the education system shouldn't educate people on who they and others can be?
2
@ribbrascal Trans women face the same problems as cis women, just with less privilege and more oppressed. They are your allies and you've allowed right wing men to turn you against them.
2
@nickthepostpunk5766 hey I just want to apologise for how antagonistic I was with you in our conversation. I regret treating it more like a debate than a conversation. I shouldn't have been trying to convince you of anything and just shared my perspective whilst listening to yours.
2
@nickthepostpunk5766 I've looked it up and it you're right about the 98% and blind trials. I apologize, it took a while to sift through the conflicting information.
2
@GlasPthalocyanine okay, which question would you like me to answer?
2
@GlasPthalocyanine Could we continue this discussion under a different video where our comments won't be deleted as often?
2
@TetsugakuSan How does it infringe on women's rights?
2
@benjaminfranklin8412 Why do you think trans women should be in the men's category?
2
@benjaminfranklin8412 I don't agree with that, because trans women are women and are not functionally men in any significant way. What is your reasoning behind this opinion? Surely you must have some logic underpinning this opinion
2
@PollyMcMan I don't know who that is. Do you want to tell me about her and maybe use her as an example to make a larger point?
2
Sex isn't a binary and the word gender has been around for centuries and has important uses. You can't just change language because it acknowledges parts of reality you wish weren't true.
2
@janebennetto5655 except reality is on my side and so is language. Why do you hate trans people Jane?
2
@scwotz those aren't truths tho, humans are more complicated than that sweety. That's a child's understanding of gender
2
@ceceo9480 My perspective is not that cis women and girls don't deserve dignity and privacy, of course they do. My perspective is simply that trans women and girls also deserve that same dignity and privacy. What have you learnt in your years of "research" that leads you to believe that trans women and girls don't deserve the same thing?
2
@barryledgister4496 you know trans women have been using female only spaces for over a century right?
2
@KitschKiss-pi8wp So what will you do if you ever have to treat a trans person? Assuming you become fully qualified and start practicing.
2
@Self_deleted_Tran complete nonsense
2
Those are not your choices, what a bad faith statement. You can't say how it is flawed or illogical. You're basically just saying "everyone who doesn't believe what I believe is insane"
2
@robertmarshall2502 conversion therapy advocates were involved. You should scrutinize the Cass review a bit more, it doesn't hold up to critical thought and has been discredited by a number of scientists, academics and human rights and health organisations.
2
@barryledgister4496 literally every form of oppression you listed happening to gay people and people of colour has been and still is in many ways happening to trans people. Wow Barry. You really are out of your depth here.
2
They don't think either of those things, no one does. Did you know that there is advanced biology? Or is basic the highest level of understanding you have?
2
@ambientjohnny Have you ever listened to a trans person talk about the joy and happiness they experienced when they transitioned? Have you watched Abigail Thron's coming out video? She explains her experience and perspective in detail. Yes I have listened to Detransitioners talk about their experience. Detransitioners make up less than 1% of people who have transitioned medically. It's pretty ridiculous to prioritise the lived experience of 1% of a group over the 99%. It isn't rational to just listen to the people who agree with you and not listen to trans people. So you're basically asking me what gender is? I'm afraid that's a very complicated question. Gender is something that has evolved throughout history and different cultures, for instance the word man used to be gender neutral, the word boy used to be for who we now call little girls. Early European colonizers believed that only white people fit into the gender binary and people of colour were deemed to be mostly an ambiguous third gender. I'm sorry I don't have a simple and easy answer for you, but there are aspects of human beings and our experiences that aren't fully understood that we need to study and explore more, things that have been changing constantly as time goes on. It's not simply based on stereotypes. I can recommend a video that I like where a non binary person explores the question "what is gender" Are you willing to listen to someone with a different perspective to you?
2
@ambientjohnny Thank you, I appreciate you saying that about me. I agree it's extremely frustrating the way comments get deleted on here. Like I said I'm open to having a conversation, we could talk on signal or a different messaging platform where we won't be censored, if you wanted.
