  5. ​ @13e11even11  The political systems we have exist for the express purpose of upholding the economic system, capitalism. That's what it's all about. It doesn't matter who the policy makers are, nothing will change for the better so long as we have capitalism. It's the root of our problems, money makes the world go round. How our economy and production is organized and distributed us what causes most external misery for most people. We need a new economic system. We've been using horse pulled carriages for too long, we need to move to automobiles, not get new horses.

Capitalism is the reason why you get paid the same regardless of how hard you do and don't work. It's capitalism that's making you brutally miserable. You'd be better off under a different economic system, we all would be.

As a white boy who loves watching video essays and is trying to diversify the list of content creators I follow so I'm not just listening to other white people educate and entertain me; I would love to see more video essays from Asian content creators, and if it's what you love to do... What you said about a lot of Asian culture being rooted in silence sounds like an incredibly interesting topic for a video essay, that's fascinating to me coming from a culture that more than anything else, needs to shut the f*ck up and listen and learn more.

A choice of what brand of soup is not freedom, all your choices are chosen for you by corporations and the government, you can only choose from the options they give you, that isn't freedom. They might not do it on TikTok but you would find plenty more white people saying those things in the south and the Midwest and in the UK and Australia and new Zealand. Cronyism is the natural progression of capitalism because capital always concentrates into fewer and fewer hands. IT'S THE SAME SYSTEM. This is basic stuff. Not only would going backwards to a 20th century economic model not work for the modern world, it would just turn into crony capitalism within a few decades. It's a terrible system that was a vast improvement over feudalism, but it's long overdue for an evolution. We need a new economic model that is designed for our modern world, a more egalitarian system. A resource based economy where we produce things based on human need, not on corporate profits. Capitalism/cronyism is a wasteful and unsustainable system of production and distribution. I don't know if you've noticed but we've fucked the planet up with our wasteful and inefficient industrialization built to serve the few. We're headed towards a climate refugee crisis and Capitalism does not have the answers. We can do better and we need to do better.

Capitalism benefits the rich far more than anyone else, it isn't anyone's game, it's the capitalists game. You and I are not capitalists. Corporations are our overlords more than the government, and government can be changed by the people in theory, but corporations are complete dictatorships, by design. I feel like you are directing your political power at the wrong entity, or focusing too much on the government at least. I'd rather government overreach than corporate overreach personally.
