Hearing both sexes mentioned here makes me glad that this isn't some sort of male-only behavior. As a man, just hearing one part of the story so many times has given me quite a hangup over my identity. Now I know that it's just a don't-be-an-asshole thing, and I can focus on that without feeling like I would inevitably succumb to it. EDIT: This is perhaps the cringiest comment I've ever written. Please disregard any and all opinions within it.

Try telling a Scottish warrior in the 1200s that men can't wear dresses. That's a good way to get a free cephalectomy. EDIT: Fine, 1700s. Sorry.

Isn't everyone welcome at Pride who would actually want to be there?

So ripped the abs have abs
53
Which is weird, because gorillas mostly forage for plants to eat
51
Humanity is too many people to care about. Gotta reduce that to what matters at any point
50
@pomax1464 Here's some cool logic: confidence is a masculine trait. Thus, it would be masculine to be confident enough in one's own masculinity to wear a dress without doubting one's identity. Thus, the dress fits perfectly.

Or that they have snake arms
39
No, but I did de-string a piano once
36
"Heterophobia" is just another word for general hate. It means fear of the different.
34
Well, yeah. The evolutions are actually states of maturity. Why would you be attracted to a juvenile?
29
Pokémon Hitachi is the world's least humane corporation
29
@luigiii1700 that actually makes sense, because there are a lot of single mothers who don't have the financial means to raise their children, and requiring them to get permission from their former partner, if even that, is stupid.
28
@YukonHexsun That has more to do with French revolutionary politics than anything else. Back then, liberal meant leftist, since the establishment of personal liberties and egalitarianism was Priority Number 1 for them. This has never been updated.
27
@nicewhenearnedrudemostlyel489 If it's not mysterious, and it wasn't the baby boomers (or really their parents), what happened? I've heard one person blame the fascists, but I haven't seen that from anyone else.
26
Do you want to try running around in a trip hazard?
25
They did. It got even worse.
24
Metroid 2 did this very well. You complete the game, where the objective is to destroy the Metroid species entirely (for the sake of the hardware and player experience, there's only one nest of Metroids left), and the last Metroid imprints on you, and you spare it, in a sequence where you are forced to reckon with what you've just done. There are no enemies to fight, there is no interesting terrain to admire, there are no power-ups to pick up. Only you and the last Metroid, journeying back up to your ship. It doesn't shove anything in your face, but makes it so you can't think about anything else.

My preferred response: "Nonn' yer beeswax, laddie!"

"It's time to make a mountain out of a molehill, so can I have a volunteer?" -"Weird" Al Yankovic

@57ashdot My solution is Pirate Socialism. Instead of company towns, town-owned companies. There's no need to worry about the state because you are the state. I call it Pirate Socialism because pirates did something like it back in the 1600s (and managed to use it to fight and win against entire empires). Yarr.

@gabbo7101 In the past few years, strides have been taken to gradually ease up on censorship of media, and I don't think that's gonna stop any time soon.
20
@charlesducombs9626 We also technically have registries for murder, robbery, other theft, racketeering, money laundering, and physical assault.
19
Except he gets tripped up in his own words often and is in many cases redundant.
19
That oughtta have done a number on the kids in training.
17
@khaotictrash And I'm betting the police would also have some things to say about it, considering indecent-exposure laws.
17
@roboteen I wouldn't go that far, but the term really doesn't make sense outside of medical/psychological contexts. For instance, "Analysis of effectiveness of novel therapy in aiding MAPs and other paraphilic persons," would be a decent name for a study. But much of the time, academic terms shouldn't be used outside of academia, because they get misunderstood or only make sense because of another academic term existing which isn't used already in public.
17
There are lots of ways to be privileged. For instance, family income, current income, labor demands, and education.
15
I mean, if we could get half the population to stop having kids, we could save the environment…
15
@donnamitsuki281 Because she's catering to an audience that is frustrated and single.
15
I myself prefer A-Rovin, but Drunken Sailor is okay
15
It's not only insulting, it's condescending.
14
Is furriness a trade or a major?
13
I think it's because they don't feel obligated to be political.
13
@anothercoda3403 Who says individualism and empathy cannot coexist? Empathy is a highly useful tool in a Darwinian world if used correctly.
13
@theshermantanker7043 I stopped respecting any party after one incident. A few years ago, a bill was introduced that would change US policy on corporate surveillance to mirror that of the EU. It was supported by a bipartisan bloc, and it seemed like it was a shoo-in. Then, President Trump decided to declare his support for the proposal. Immediately, Nancy Pelosi spoke out against the bill. This is why I will never declare party membership, because going against the enemy always takes priority over any ideals they claim to profess.
13
I think the reason I don't know of a lot of famous women whom I see as funny is because my sense of humor is generally mundane. I won't laugh at current events, but I will laugh at a malfunctioning toaster. This is why I find Paula Poundstone hilarious.

If that teacher were Scottish they'd be singing a different tune
12
@DrCruel Read Marx and say that again, very slowly. The Communist Manifesto is about three pages long if you only read the important parts, and it is best to know at least the slightest thing about what you're arguing against.
12
The next video: "What is love?"
12
Nah, enemies have some sort of respect for each other. They're usually really passive aggressive.
11
@randch4773 The Aces get it too (often from the medical field and from the people you'd expect to be mad someone isn't attracted to them)
11
Well, technically, before the cord is cut, a baby/fetus is a part of the woman's body, thus making an abortion just like an amputation.
11
I'm honestly surprised there's even enough teens and kids in the world now to even qualify as a generation.
11
In the 1700s, the bourgeois were peasants. The nobles and clergy were above them, and the monarch was above them.
10
That's going a bit far. What I would do is have a conversation like respectable people who are in a healthy relationship.
10
"no amount of pronouns will save you". So you're just going to start using thou instead? Because you is a pronoun.
10
I think you've been going to the wrong rehab
10
I was going to say that I didn't think anybody in the movie was the hero, but then I remembered that last scene where the mom becomes the hero.
