omfg they turned the gauges upside down @_@ and yeah, historically Bentleys have been cars for the driver where Rolls were cars to be driven in. Love the interior, absolutely love it. One complaint is the steering wheel, it doesn't look posh to me. Other than that I wish that if you really opened up the taps you'd hear the v8 a bit more. Exterior is hit and miss for me, I prefer the old arnage.
1
Oof. Why is it even an option to get this car in such a BORING color? 😂 The thing looks insane but the color is so mundane. Did they finally put a locking diff in the transaxle of these or not yet?
1
actual gauges on the dashboard? And what's shown on the hud? I really don't like the exterior of the car, it's proportions and ride height are weird, but that v12 and interior, so fine.
1
Dude this thing is beautiful, though I have to say I prefer E types in a darker color like BRG or blue. Yeah, cornering fast in one of these requires some counter steer. It's more of a slippery beasty to go real fast. Very eager to rev but it doesn't rev all that high. Smoothness of the straight 6 but it's probably got a long stroke?

I have for some 12-14 years now, there's always one or 2 out at Historic racing events and trackdays at Zandvoort... I live 15 minutes from the paddock ;)
1
race tires? So slicks? huh what? What are these tires? I am so confused.
1
@TedwardDrives yeah you did after I wrote that lol.
1
So, that engine sounds very unlike what a bentley engine would sound like, it has more of an S6 character in note. Still, great they still make this W platform, just put it in something like a normal car instead of a useless vehicle :) The analog clock is by far my favorite feature on the thing. Nothing comes close. Then again I am very biased. 😂
1
You need to go back, have them put it on tires that match the suspension and go off roading kinda like you did with the unimog :P (Also bring a Lambo LM002 for the engine sound when doing that polar opposite)
1
I have one question, why start with a carrera 4 and not an RWD one? The width on the rear axle?
1
@TedwardDrives the damn noise tho, that v4 sounds terrific
1
I had to get used to this model because no manual and that front flares, but in this finish it looks sick, much better than the 992 GT3 which honestly looks bloated compared to this. However every time I see a 992 on the road I'm really liking it, odd. Also. The noise of an NA engine revving beyond 8k.
1
Your opening statement: Dude I've had that in Holland. I was driving past a VERY DAMN LONG on ramp from a fuel station (like, easily half a mile and then some and then some) in my RV towing my BMW, so I was going slö. On the onramp comes this fiat panda. I eased off the throttle to give her space, what happens next? At the end of the on ramp brake lights come on, she comes to a stop and sticks her damn head into traffic to look for a gap. That old lady will kill someone.
1
I've heard one of these with a straight pipe, damn son, the noise. Got the same with my T5 engine, it feels like it's right to shift at 5200 even though it should make peak power at 6000, the thing makes so much torque all through that rev range that unless you're racing someone, which ne ver happens, 5200 rpm in 2nd and 3rd will have you braking the speed limit easy.
1
Honda forgot to finish your car, it's still in ground/base. Why on earth would you take base/ground coat over an actual color? That's basically the only thing I don't like about the car along with the digital dash which makes no sense in a car like this. Oh and the electronic parking brake. Other than that, cool ride man, enjoy it :)
1
Man a manual of a GT makes so much sense, but that must be just us gearheads. This thing is brilliant.
1
also at the end there's that nice Bizzarini there.
1
Honestly, I never understand people who buy these on a license plate save those that only drive it to and from a trackday, because a 911 turbo is already stupid fast and not a lot on the road will catch it..... Which also means that there just is not enough space anywhere on the world to truely open the tabs and tax the chassis.... at least not where your car needs to be insured and have plates. that said, I can only applaud Porsche for still making something like this, something as absolutely bonkers.... with a normal dashboard for a change! I don't think I quite like the contrast between the dials and the color of the numbers on it though :) (Hey, gotta nag on something, right?)
1
Are you implying I have more than 20 euros right now? 12:30
1
@TedwardDrives Don't take drum brakes to a disk brake event!
1
@TedwardDrives Ah nice, the GT Strada's ( yes, they're entered as strada... even though they're race cars) they race here have drums :) Good for 6 laps at speed.
1
I've honestly been pulled over ONCE. In a 40 horsepower Panda. Never in any car with an actual engine, and I don't drive like a granny. (Trust me, I've taken several cars to speeds that their speedo doesn't even show, but nobody else around for miles) Not driving like an asshole is indeed a big part of my driving style. I don't tailgate, I don't endanger other people, I basically just chill, except that every now and then I overtake some people.
1
Thing I hate most is that damn ipad that just does not fit the interior styling in what way soever. Actual gauges ftw, manual 6 speed ftw, rear looksl ike it could be on a honda meh, but it's okay, nose is okay. Plastic trim around the edges of the car should have an in-finish option, All in, yeah I like this car. They should just call it Impreza though, it's like BMW suddenly calling the 2 door M3 something different because someone ate too much bratwurst.
1
I've had cars with reverse cams before, I didn't even notice 😂 I just use the mirrors and rear window. It'd be great if my ford had one because it makes hooking up trailers easier. Also, 8000 rpm engines will be back once hydrogen finally sets off. And yeah the s tart-stop systems are killer not just for turbo engines if you ask me. That can't be right for batteries, alternators and starter motors / flywheels
1
5000 lbs? that suffices. My ford tows around 4000.
1
question, can you actually see the entire tach when you're in it? Cause on the camera you are missing the first 3k rpm lol. My Yaris T-sport had central gauges but the rev counter was closer, I liked that.
1
@TedwardDrives time to chop up the dashboard of a limited edition car then 😂😂😂
1
What I remember most about these is how thirsty for fuel they were. 😂 This is definitely a looker though, not quite as good as an old 60's GT40 in some aspects, and just a tiny tad better than some of them in others.
1
I remember one of the few things we improved post build about our track bmw was the shift linkage. They'd cut one up and welded it together with a few spot welds.... when you're on the track you don't hold back so the spot welds tore. :) It's been properly welded now, it can probably pull the entire car.
1
at least you don't have to look at the nose while you're in it, and if you're nice to the other road users they'll mostly see the rear. I REALLY don't like that nose 😂 Ferrari v12's sound tho 🎶 Honestly, if you have the money, to hell with the twin turbo v8 (probably from the 488?) and get the v12. NA > Turbo. Oh I know why people didn't buy this. Have you checked the nose? 🤣
1
@svenhvr officially it was 80 km/h but they give leeway for inaccuracy in speedometers. Which is used to great effect by the transport sector
