the problem for me with lucy is in onr scene she overcomes the bad guys using one, not quite thought out method, but in another scene she uses and even more badly thought out, and effort consuming method. grrr, one thing to take liberties with science, but to employ *utterly stupid logic* is criminal.

all this talk of batteries actually makes me awe at how efficient humans actually are, i think i was brought up to think that humans have masses of inefficiency, but really, we shove a pond or two junk down our throat and that will keep us running for nearly a week, if we don't mind just dropping at the end of the test. lol, it takes me three months to do laundry.

@ma3xiu1 flat earth and creation debates are just not very bright people trying to force everyone back into the dark ages, not a debate at all really, just displays of ignorance from people who can't accept they lost. ID and creationism should have died with the dover trials, but no, they keep banging on about it.

have you got an auntie called sabine?
1
there's a dirty joke about "welcome to los angeles and have nice day" tattooed somewhere private. just saying.

i did special effects on thunderbirds the movie, lol, anything with bubbles (underwater) and everything that had a rocket flame, and all the bits of chaff floating in weightlessness.....i met johnathan frakes (director) on that one.

ha! napkins, no one ill take napkins seriously, i tried out my scarab beetle being theory using napkins, it flopped. ENVELOPES - only the backs though, ONLY THE BACKS! the post office and the CIA are onto the fronts of envelopes, just use the backs.

what i would find more interesting is, what happens at the "end of the universe" cause once temperature has been entirely dissipated, either it A) has no where else to go and we still have a temperature above zero or B) although it has nowhere to go basically it's particles in motion, so the articles can come to a halt? or can they? whether the universe is infinite or not i don't see that heat can become zero, and what about "virtual particles", they are coming and going regardless of what's happening in our universe. anyway.

i was under the impression that the spherical cows were just the most efficient way to fit as many as possible into a field.

@orathaic lol, i have a crappy art degree and it amazes me how some professors get their job. even i can use excel. even i can commit fraud and not get caught - lol.

@bucherregaldomi9084 i'm an animator, i've worked in computer graphics and animation since the 80's, it would be that hard to generate 'random' data from a path curve that looks like spiders generated it.

when i was younger, so much younger than today, someone mentioned "speed reading" (i was born in 1954 and was fascinated by car assembly lines and "time and motion" studies), so, i taught myself how to read really, really fast. basically you skip the battle scenes (cos you find out who won at some point eh). i used to have all of the tolkien books, and three or four version of "lord" but i had a clear out a while ago and they are on a barge heading for china now i expect.
1
you and sabine should do a crossover.
1
i've only seen one video about photons and energy levels, but if it's of interest it might be fun to boggle some minds with the fact that objects and light have no intrinsic colour, that the universe is grey. same with taste and smell, these things only exist inside brains. sound - doesn't exist anywhere, not even inside your head, thoughts?
1
i would like a space sex robot.
1
you can overdose on water. just sayin'
1
oh, you noticed too.

you wonder where your teeth have gone when you brush your teeth with the atom bomb. (you wonder where the yellow went, when you brush your teeth with pepsodent)
1
@zanderwohl i was told it absorbs fart, now what am i going to do?
1
1:00:00 could the speed up be well a planned slingshot? it can't be going straight from A to B surely....

the thing about ransomeware is it only works on suckers. i've been sent emails with my passwords and "sensitive" information that implies someone has access to my computer and camera demanding bitcoin or else. thing is even if it were so that they have access to anything at all it's not actually worth the effort of going through with their demands, they just want money, not work, so it's pure threat with no substance. when i got the email, and a follow up, i did scratch my head as to how to proceed - like "go ahead, in all honesty you won't be revealing anything that will surprise anyone" (i really don't care, i really have no secrets) but that would just be inviting more interaction, so i ignored the threats and - nothing.

yo beat me to it, but christ there are some touchy people on this page aren't there. and no sense of humour apparently, scientists or christians?
1

14:21 we of course have the bill and ted paradox - don't forget to steal the keys. fantastic time travel movie - where no one actually travels in time - is the japanese movie, two minutes into the infinite - great fun, needlessly complicated, mind boggling in it's simplicity and very japanese. and i forget what happens, lol. it took me a dozen watches, but "predestination" finally grabbed me, plenty to think about in that. "time crimes" is has some interesting ideas in it too. and of course the low budget classic "primer"

14:00 it's good to see a "weird" number somewhere in maths and physics, i still can't fathom (i'm an artist, not a theoretical physicist dammit) why things square and square root, i mean how come it's not "almost but not quite the square root" of some things? how come it's not E = MC not quite but almost squared??
1
seinfeld did the most accurate reconstruction of the assassination i believe.

this is calvin and hobbes right?

9:00 how to grow potatoes, i agree. one of my all time favourite books is "the trouble twisters" by poul anderson, and the opening scene of the main story is our hero having a shoot out with the religious zealots he's offended, and during the tale and the shootout, he is trying to figure out how to transport essential goods for trade without using wheels - the circle to the locals is a symbol of their religious belief, and they are trying to shoot the heretic who used their most sacred object as wagon wheels, so he spends the whole story trying to figure out how to build a wheel that's not circular. obvious when you aren't being shot at, but.... it's also one of my favourite covers, he's depicted riding a raptor type lizard that's bright yellow and purple.
