  1. I understand how beloved the spoon clank was, but yes, it is off-putting when someone stops mid-diatribe to slurp. Misophonia is a real thing, although only jerks protest loudly about such an individual quirk, I think. As for unprofessional, eh. Clank away. Stay bare chested. Fly an OuroBouros worm flag in the background. It does not alter fairly good-quality analysis, which is why people listen. Even my husband considers what Styx has to say, and he is a retired Republican rocket engineer. He probably would take Styx less seriously if he started prognosticating in a suit and blow-dried haircut.

  3. Well, we have seen jobs like that, but it's been a long time. They don't call us the Rust Belt for nothing. Now . . . if he could steer better jobs north of Hwy 29, that would be nice. Up here, all we have is tourism and extractive industries, and the two don't pay much, nor mix well.

  4. tolpacourt: One useful aspect of Rasmussen is that it is one of the few to poll the "likely voter." Given this, it should be both more stable and more predictive than other polls.

  5. I don't think that the 200 y.o. Dem. party is in such good health, and I don't recollect a time in my 53 years when it has been so suicidally illiberal. I hop that the goddamn, useless party dies good and dead. About time. Very little love for the Rs, either, but they are less crooked and nazilike.

I switched from Bernie to Trump because a Trump vote in Wisconsin would do HRC maximum damage (You're welcome!), but I really did not want to punish Democrats at all--I just didn't want to vote for them at all anymore, after Lurline "It's my turn" Clinton terrorized everyone else on the farm team into not running . . . to make America safe for corporatist oligarchy, I guess. Never dreamed I would ever feel the need to vote for Trump, but I did because I thought he would be better for the country. By golly, he was!
