(Crime was a hug topic in 1988) I think most people would have responded, "What a tacky question!" but The Dook just waded on in with an earnest answer with a sleepy sperg look on his face. Dukakis always looked as if he were stifling a yawn. And his response did backfire. People realized why Kitty ended up in Hazelden after drinking rubbing alcohol.

Trump repeats things about 3 times, then moves on to his next point, which people criticize, but that kind of "module" is effective in casual oral/aural communication. It helps people keep track of the topic as their minds naturally wander. He just pumps out these idea modules as efficiently as a salesman, and I think the style is underrated. Speaking and writing style should never be the same.
