  2. Female genital mutilation might be more severe than male circumcism, but they are both mutilation.

  3. ​ @RobbinFlowers In my region of the U.S., we had a 95% circ rate when I was going into nursing. I did have to take care of those unfortunate babies, and yes, it hurts them. They scream when they wet their diapers, poor things. There is just so much wrong with doing that to babies. Usually without much thought, as well.

  5. ​ @charlespancamo9771 I agree with your opinion. On the other hand, if a female prepuce is any guide, the the extreme sensitivity of the prepuce is not sexual in nature—it's more like the sensitivity of a fingertip. There must be some biological advantage to that.

  7.  @VespasianJudea  Glad you prefer it. Most men don't know what they are missing or if they are missing anything much at all. My problem is with consent. A newborn can not consent. I was born in the 1960s, and remaining uncut is extremely uncommon among my cohort. When my son was born, I had ignorant nurse's aides scolding me for not wanting to circumcise. I also hate that kind of emotional stick groupthink.

  8.  @VespasianJudea  My dad was born in the hospital in the 1930s and did not have it done. I still see a goodly proportion of males his age who are intact and doing fine. I think the Army and Navy talked a lot of new recruits into it during WWII.

  9. On the other hand, the reason people get their kids cut stems from almost purely emotional reasons! "I want him to look like his dad." "I don't want him teased." "Circumcision is cleaner" ( it is not), "Circumcised organs look better."

  17.  @conveyor2  A circumcised penis is also less comfortable for the man's partner—penile skin is meant to be loose, mobile and nonfrictional.
