  3.  @littlekingtrashmouth9219  Neither. She's obviously in the Trump administration to cloak herself in a little of his glory. She will run as whatever she must, but she may actually continue successful aspects of Trumpism. Politicians are opportunists, Trump included, but no politician except Trump can lead as Trump has. And, if he is successful, he will be remembered as a sui generis agent of change. His successor will not need to break that same ground. Kind of depressing, actually, since you know that this lovely paradigm change of Trump's will be stale and riddled with rent-seekers within a decade or two. Power always brings out the slime after a while.

  4.  Tony Mario  He has a nimble legal mind and tongue and can bulldoze an opponent, but he's got his blind spots, and, like Çenk Ugyur, is basically just a deeply ideological talking head, not exactly a towering political thinker. You overstate his excellence.

  6.  @golanoski1  Who sits and watches YouTube commentary when it's just a talking head? I listen with headphones as I do other work. Of course, then the coffee slurping stops being funny and starts being annoying, but I'm one of those dopes with misophonia. My husband and I have grown fond of Styx because of how his mind synthesizes things. Very good brain. The best. Those other brains? Total disasters. It's true. He's actually a great spoken word guy. Not canned. Quick on his feet. Able to draw from a broad fund of knowledge. The clanking spoon, slurping and DFH costume are delightful, quirky, Dadaist details. Don't sweat the small stuff.

  7. Rumor has it that she's leaving ahead of an ethics probe into her use of private jets from donor friends. She had accounted for them improperly on her expense report. Sticking around for such a probe to be launched would cripple her political aspirations. This according to Jack Posobiec.

  10. Jack Posobiec says he heard from 2 independent sources that Haley pre-empted an ethics investigation into her use of private jets. Like most swamp creatures, she found out the hard way that the rules DO apply to her. This is pre-emptive in the sense that she thinks she has a shot at the presidency, or whatever.

  12. I have long assumed that Trump wants to know the mind and the ways of Establishment creatures, so he co-opts them. Trump haters portray him as wanting only yes men, but I suspect just the opposite. Like another first-time leader before him, FDR, he knows that you need to coöpt your adversary, to some degree. And giving cabinet posts to potential challengers and also-rans is a way to make them "take the veil" and leave the spotlight, ostensibly to serve the victor. E.g., Obama pretty much neutralized Hillary by employing her. And by most accounts, he did everything he could to use other diplomats rather than give Hillary something real to do. As Dick Morris notes, as an ex-Sec'y. of State, Hillary has zip to do with foreign policy. No consulting, no papers in journals, no speeches on pure foreign policy, and no turns on the Sunday shows to discuss diplomacy.
