Because they're now too young to have been politically active during the Civil Rights era? Some of the old, grizzled Dems remember it, and the left in general did take up the cause, but so did the Republicans. One of the very first national politicians to support Martin Luther King was Richard Nixon, back when he was a senator from California. King himself was a Republican. That NEVER gets mentioned, and Nixon is given no credit for his early political courage and basic human decency about race relations. Because the narrative has been edited to exclude opponents of Democrats.

He has a fetish for oppression. If you aren't oppressed, you either have to make one up or turn in your Democrat card. If I ever run for anything as a Dem, I think I'll claim I'm oppressed because the last three seasons of Mad Men were shit. Or maybe because people keep saying my eyes are grey when they're really bluish-green. Or maybe because I'm a menopausal-American and get triggered by tampon ads.

Are you threatening me?

Used to be a Democrat, active in Wisconsin state- and county-level politics. Their platform per se is a fucking joke. They form a committee every year to vote on grassroots platform suggestions, but that all gets boiled down to the same prefab bullshit written by consultants and "branding experts." The idea of doing what Democrat rank & file members actually want is long dead.

@SvendleBerries It'd look bad in my portfolio.

Trump's having called him Alfred E. Neuman was a very efficient linguistic kill shot. 1) He really does look like him. Can't unsee it 2) He's young and stupid, like Alfred E. Neuman. just a 30-something hothouse flower who would not know a real problem if it bit him in his connubial ass. He thinks Thomas Jefferson is "problematic," for Christ's sake! 3) He's so damn young and bubble-dwelling that all he could manage was a prissy, "I had to Google [Alfred E. Neuman]." My read is that he's sticking to his smug pride in his credentials while implying that Trump is a vulgar grotesque. That'll win him the smug college vote. Then there are those of us (me, for example) who can have a conversation in Norwegian or a handful of other languages not because we were Rhodes scholars, but because it is possible to be intelligent without having a gold-plated education or voting Democrat. With just a few offhand remarks, Trump has caused the stuffy Mr. Buttigieg to Al Gorify himself. Well played!

@Youtube Veterinarian Yeah. Can't quite figure out Biden's mouth, which got him in trouble long before this latest recrudescence of PC. I watched him closely in 1988, and he was a rash gaffe hunter back then, too. Hoist by his own lying petard. 2 leaking aneurysms and 31 years have not improved him, either.

Geez . . . Trump is so reasonable that Booty Judge has to gin up a whole potemkin opponent for himself.

"Pay no attention to that orange non-homophobe behind the curtain! He's oppressing muh gay!"

MSM delighted in seeing through the deception back in the day, depending on who the politician was. Then it deteriorated into sports analysis, and now sophistry to support the party line. That's what you get for consolidating the free press into six corporations in bed with leadership. It also helps that young "journalists" don't know shit about anything nor even how to think straight.
