  1. I once ate a pack of Vivarin on a cross-country drive back in 1988. After three days, I was paranoid, hallucinating, and suffering from angina. I was only 22 or so. Caffeine isn't exactly harmless.

  3.  @maelstrom2313  That was in July, 1988. On the way back, somebody in a Nevada hick town stole most of my cash while I was showering in a motel. I had no plastic to spend, so I made it home on fumes, eating the California salmon and nectarines I was bringing home as a gift, sleeping in my car with an ice pick in my hand, and rationing my cigarettes--I hadn't the $1.25 to spare for a new pack. I got from the west coast to the midwest on 2 tanks of gas. Thank goodness I was driving an early-80s economy car. I was paranoid on the way home, too, since freeway shootings were a new thing, then. I had too much time alone on the road to imagine that everybody else was a potential maniac.
