  5.  @TheSpicyLeg  Your old man is probably remembering it right. Here in N. Wisconsin, we did get heavy snows and record lows. 1976 brought one day here recorded at -60°F or below, which is just crazy cold. I remember streaks of cold and warm years since then. E.g. weeks of -40°F in the winter of 1983-84. Then 1985 was eerily hot. Another cold, snowy period in the mid-1990s, thanks to pollution from Mt. Pinatubo. And on and on. This has been going on forever; rascals are just screwing with us by calling it a doomsday trend of one kind or another. I like reframing it as the need to conserve energy and resources, which is something the average person can help with, unlike "climate change".
