  15. In my estimation, President Trump combines the best of liberty-mindedness and adherence to rule of law with pragmatism --a quality almost entirely missing in the Libertarian Party. If they want to be regarded as a viable party, then the Libertarians had better act like a real party, rather than as a booger-picking rump session of a freshman Philosophy 101 class.

  19. During the AIDS outbreak, people did debate quarantining infected people, but the idea was dismissed as unthinkable. As it should have been, since HIV is so extremely hard to catch. COVID-19 is easy to catch, but not very lethal . . . the idea of quarantining healthy people and shuttering businesses should have likewise been unthinkable in the Sweet Land of Liberty . . .   41. Personally speaking, it was the scariest, most depressing drug I ever took. I thought I would lose my personhood along with even my ability to speak. And when the drug's effect was not so severe, it merely made me paranoid. Worst "recreational" drug, ever. A substantial proportion of people do find marijuana disruptive and unpleasant. Why do some people obsess over how wonderful it is? They deserve an honest counterpoint.

Hearing Trump, who keeps his private life out of his speeches, talk about the general American Deist God and seeing his policies bolstering freedom of religion strikes me as pitch-perfect.
