Also, she will forever be a sentenced criminal that had to do time (even if a very short time). One wonders what will happen when next she wants to vote! A convicted criminal in the US! In my part of the world, prison inmates are still citizens and have voting rights throughout. Methinks you 'Muricans are off your rocker with your revenge-based judicial system. It only breeds more hate, no "correction" or reformation in sight.

The kind of help these deranged individuals would need is simply not available in the US. The standard US reaction is to throw them into a for-profit prison, where they can rot for life (unless Trump pardons them on his way out), at great cost to the US public and great profit for the prison shareholders.

Good point regarding the life experiences of the young US generation that will be new voters in 2020 forward. Republican governing (Bush Jr. & Trump) have been a disaster, Obama (known outside the US as "Useless Obama" due to his failure to accomplish anything significant despite high expectations) turned out to be a Corporate Democrat, just about the same as a moderate Republican. Decades of attempts to try something outside the two-idential-parties scene have failed. These days a movement known as "Justice Democrats", an uprising within the Democratic party, gives a glimmer of hope for the average US citizen. Forget about the "Democratic Socialist" equals "Communist" nonsense. Let's see what the upcoming generation of motivates voters will do. The Republican goose is probably cooked, and hopefully the Corporate Democrat goose is cooked as well.

A new way of shaming Trump followers?

Funny how the English language takes quirky (but hopefully temporary) sidesteps. A current example: The word "zero" seems to be replacing the words "no" and "none" with the pundits.
1
alanrtment porter , you are correct - I should have been more specific: You only hear US pundits use "zero" like this.

There is a simple solution for Sarah: STOP LYING!

Every reputable English dictionary has a definition for "woke" - and while the exact wording can vary a little, the actual meaning is more or less identical. Google it!

So, let Trump try to sue congressmen for following the Constitution - he would be laughed out of court.

Remember, the daughter is also George Conway's daughter, so chances as are she's really smart and, most important, her brain has not been damaged like her mother's brain has (infected by the MAGA virus).

Talk about having to scrape the bottom of the defamation barrel when it comes to AOC. Funny thing is: Even if she were to forego tidying her hair (at an exorbitant price, as women have to do), she would be just as pretty and, more important, just as smart.

"Every single human being on this planet" are going to suffer because of the US Judiciary system corruption now imposed by the Republicans? At last count only about 330 million people are under US laws, the rest of us are non-US citizens - unless the US is planning total world domination...

Trump may have dictated the contents of this letter, but someone else will have put it to paper (ghost writer?) - Trump simply does not have the vocabulary used in this letter. Just compare Trump's off-script speaches vs. his Telepropter speeches. On the prompter, Trump is like a first-grader reading text, haltingly talking like a robot but using 'complex' words he almost has to spell and frequently misreads. Off-script, he simply comes across like a first-grader in a tantrum, with a very VERY limited vocabulary. Confusing 'oranges' with 'origins' is typical for Trump.

Obama's Nobel Peace Price turned out to be premature and ultimately not really deserved. The reason? Expectations were extremely high that Obama could really change thing for the good which, as it turned out, he was unable to do and in some cases probably wasn't willing to do.

You missed how flabbergasted Trump was about Prince Charles´s caring about the climate we will leave for our children and grandchildren. His take: "He is Prince Charles, he does not NEED to care about the future of other people!". A truly alien concept for a narcissist.

Old-school Confederates have been alive and well in southern states for a century-and-half, but US demographics have been slowly changing around them and now they have become a minority. Shamelessly trying to stave off the inevitable, they are desperately using gerrymandering and voter suppression (the only way for them to cling to power), but even that is slowly failing in the face of the sheer force of demographic change. Some reprieve might be bought by going full-on fascist, but that will only last a decade or so and make the repercussions for them really, REALLY grave (Nüremberg-style). One, two or even three elections into the future, the sheer weight of the change in demographics will carry the US population out of the Capitalistic Hellhole they have been living in for over 4 decades. One would NOT want to be a Repugnican when that time comes. How repugnant the Repugnicans manage to become until the inevitable showdown will determine how vengeful the suppressed classes will be. Worst case: French revolution-style, Guillotine times. Best case: Mandela-style reconciliation - which is REALLY unlikely to happen, given the Confederate vitriol we have been witnessing. The US is in for some interesting times in the near future.

Never mind the potential quid pro quo, the important fact is that Trump clearly tried to solicitate aid from a foreign government to help is upcoming elections - a clear violation of the constitution and the law.

NOT being "of sound mind" and simultaneously being "an evil genius" seems incompatible. The world will, however, be a better place once Moscow Mitch leaves the political arena.

Implementing the Green New Deal may well be Genocide - where the rich will be the victims! NOT to implement the Green New Deal will be Genocide where everybody will be the victims, especially our children and grandchildren.

I live in a country where every citizen is automatically registered as a voter the day he or she reaches the voting age. You are automatically able to vote in the constituency of your domicile after that. If you change your domicile you are automatically moved as a voter to your new constituency. ALL elections are done on public holidays, no need to take time off from your work. If the nature of your job requires you to work on a voting day (airline pilot, hospital nurse etc.), or you plan to be away on holiday on voting day, there are still provisions to enable you to vote. Voting is an automatic civic RIGHT, no extra hassle, no hoops to jump through. And yes - you have to be able to prove your identity, using e.g. you passport or driver license. No big deal. As a result, voter fraud is all but impossible.

Being artificially blonde, the idea of playing a stereotypical "stupid blonde" is possibly Ivanka's first line of defense. Then again, check her roots - she's not a genuine blonde. Her father is unable to string together a coherent sentence, i.e. he is stupid but surprisingly cunning. The same probably applies to Ivanka and her brothers.

@Speedbird61 , as far as I can see, there is no Turnberry airport. There WAS a Turnberry Airfield during WW1 & WW2, and the landing strips can still be seen at the Trump Turnberry Golf Course. The airport being discussed IS the Glasgow Prestwick Airport (EGPK). The Scottish Government has service contracts with the USAF, USN, USMC, Defense Logistics Agency and National Guard, and the most controversial use by the US were the extraordinary rendition flights.

Aww, you are really mean to them. They can be pitied for being collateral damage of the Trump debacle, but that's all. They choose to go down this path, and now they reap "the benefits" (spelled: suffer the consequences). Should we feel sorry for them? Nah...

The phrase "American Republicans" struck me as odd. Are there any other Republicans in the world other than 'Murican Republicans, a.k.a. Repugnicans? To people in other countries, 'Murican Repugnicans come across as the stupidest part of the US population and, even if they are a minority, they appear to be managing to dismantle whatever democracy there remaines in the US.
1
Methinks that the Repugnican Party is in a deep hole and I suggest the you allow them to keep digging. If they want to start impeachment proceedings without a shred of evidence, LET THEM HAVE AT IT! They will only be exposed as the deranged fools and idiots they really are. Moreover, the House will be tied up in a pointless endeavor while the Trump Trials march on.

Biden certainly seems to be having some initial issues with his physical mobility (my father is now 95 and I know from experience that this progress is slow but inexorable), but Trump is dealing with similar issues. Just watch him timidly navigating a down-sloping ramp). Biden's mental acuity, on the other hand, is apparently orders of magnitude better than Trump's - and has always been so.

How about: If you are not allowed to vote for any reason, you are not qualified to run for any office in the land! Convicted felons are, as far as I know, not allowed to vote in most states and it seems rational to apply the same limitations for anyone running for any office, let alone the presidency. I promise you, the "convicted felons cannot vote" nonsense would disappear like dew on a sunny morning!
