This actually makes sense in such a violently militant country as the US actually is, the important point being that a draftee should not HAVE to go abroad and murder third-world nationals so US corporations can take over their resources. A draftee should be given a choice between military service (murdering third-world nationals) or community service away from your local haunts. Any type of service that takes you out of you current situation (you local gang or, if you are upper crust, your Country Club sillies) and forces you to experience something new, far away from your regular experiences. In return you would receive a free College-level or trade school education according to your needs or abilities.
