  10. A cop breaks the law by assaulting a citizen and the only recourse is a civil suit? The pink-shirt Sergeant has serious self-control problems and should not be allowed anywhere near a badge and a gun, seeing that he is incapable of de-escalating a rather harmless situation.   15. A horribly inept driver, driving far beyond his meager capabilities! His license should be yanked, at a minimum. The dash-cam immediately prior to the accident verified that. Here I was, thinking that police officers were TRAINED to drive in unusual conditions, but obviously I was wrong.

  16. This particular confrontation turned rude and escalating, which admittedly rubbed me the wrong way. The flip side: This is exactly like so many cop/citizen encounters we see on YouTube, where the the bloody cops are the ones being rude, arrogant and the ones to escalate the situation - sometimes to the point of an unwarranted and often fatal police shooting. What is mind-boggling is the fact that the vast majority of US police officers are fair-minded, proper protect-and-serve individuals that STILL tend to cover up for the tiny minority of "rotten-apple" cops that are the cause of all the bad-cop controversy. Are the good cops masochists at heart? Why do they accept the harm being done by bad cops? The uniformed officer in this clip is obviously one of the 99%, a sensible person that somehow manages to quietly defuse the situation.

At the end of this clip, a young woman was fervently pro-life, if a fetus has started growing it should be allowed to term, even if the mother had all kinds of reasons to terminate the pregnancy, be it inability to care for the child, it is a result of rape or incest or even severe deformity the that will condemn the child to a lifetime of misery. Then, when asked about the responsibility of the society that is forcing potential mothers into such situations she flip-flops, her attitude is: If a parent "decides" to become a parent (the STATE decided she should become an unwilling parent!), it is the responsibility of that parent to take care of the rest. Given what keeps happening to black US citizens surrounded by cops, he should have stayed calm and reasonable instead of being argumentative, screaming and yelling. A horrible situation for any citizen to be in, anywhere! Fortunately for me I am not a US citizen, and while I have visited the US a few times over the years, I have sworn not to visit again while this madhouse effect is ruling the US. I am sure this will eventually pass, and US citizens of color will finally be considered simply regular citizens, but I am afraid it will take a few generations, even a potential Nazi-Germany type fascist convulsion, before things get rational again. Believe me, I feel for today's US citizens of color, but all I can offer now is my sympathy - and I am NOT trying to be condescending.

  50. Imagine if you had to choose and negotiate which fire department or police force would turn up when you call 911. Imagine if an Icelandic military force was invading your coastal state and you had to look up your Defense Contract to know a) which mercenary force or militia to call, and b) if the contract covers invasions by Icelanders! In EVERY developed country some basic issues are guaranteed (and paid for with your taxes): Community safety (Firefighting and Police), the well-being of yourself and your family (Health Care) and the future of your offspring and yourself (Education and Pension). Most developed countries spend an inordinate amount of resources on warfare (called Defense), but there is one country that is geologically invasion-proof but still spends astronomic sums on "defense", but have only used their military forces for actual OFFENSE in the last 70 years, only fighting and even instigating conflict well outside their own border. Their "Department of Defense" should really be called the "Department of Offense". This country is NOT Russia, which has been invaded twice in just a few centuries. Putin's Russia certainly is deplorable, exporting organized and political crime overtly and covertly, but the US appears to be winning the "who is most deplorable" contest. If the US were to crank down their "defense" spending to suit their domestic needs, the "how are you going to pay for affordable health care and education" question becomes moot.
