From what I read yesterday the Ukrainians were still around 10 km away from the first prepared defense line (as in the ominous big red lines on satellite pictures shared on social media) and are only fighting through the buffer zone at the moment (which is what Mike Martin wants to sell us as breakthroughs through the first and second lines). So you know, we'll know how well prepared Russia's defense is when the Ukrainians reach it. By the way, the slow and steady approach to conserve manpower that Martin is describing as what Ukraine is doing? That's actually Russia's approach, he just changed the name of the country.
